I thought I would start this thread, so we can see all the members that are going to Curves - so we can check in with everyone once in awhile and keep us all honest!

I was also thinking of once a week, like on Mondays, starting a thread telling how many days you went to Curves, etc.? or what you did for excercise for the week?

Let me know what you think?

Shera

Hi Kate, yes I am still here… been pretty busy with the kids and everything. Still going to curves too. Looks like I am going to be working very part time soon as well. (4 or 5 hours a week)

How are you doing Kate? Sorry I haven’t been as active as I want to be… summers can get crazy here lol.

Hi,

I went to curves again today, I haven’t been posting my curves visits but I did get there last week too.

I had my one month anniversary there on the 4th so today I went and got measured and weighed and though I haven’t lost weight per say, I have lost 2 and a half inches!

My body fat percentage went down a little bit too. So I am pretty happy with that. I will see what happens next month.

Hi, I just returned from Curves. Missed yesterday, weather was just so yucky here. Flooding, downpours alternating with a little sun. Today is much better so far.
I am pastdue for my weigh-in, but I don't think I've lost but 3/4 lb.,a total of 7 lbs in 2 months. it is so slow!!

Golly - too hot for anybody to go to curves?  I went today (1st time all week, because I've been "on vacation" with my hubby - seeing a Pirates ballgame and some movies, etc - and sleeping IN) - felt really good to go and now I am ticked that I didn't make myself get up and go - but will see what happens tomorrow morning!

Well, I was wondering where all the Curvers were! I have been going, as a matter of fact, I went 5 days this week. I finally weighed, have lost 8 lbs. Boy, it has been a struggle. I eat almost no carbs, this darn Insulin, I think is slowing me down.

I havent been posting on this thread but I have been going to curves. Yesterday was  "bad week"..went either 2 or 3 times but most weeks I do go six days a week and supplement with time on the Gazelle.  I was not over weight when dxed 4 months ago..so my intention of joining curves wasnt so much weight loss as it was exercise..But the combination of carb watching and exercise ...I have lost 11 pounds..I could fit in to my wedding gown I wore when I was 19!!

I will check this board more often...we need to encourage each other !

Just returned from Curves, a little tired, but always feel
like I'm doing something beneficial for my Diabetes. Just got an aerobic board, like they have at Curves to go with my Gazelle and treadmill in the basement. I plan to workout in the afternoons and hopefully lose a little more. Seems like that is the only way for me to lose. I don't think I can eat any less.

Good for you Katie..I went to Curves today also and I have a Gazelle.. Unfortunately the heat index is 105 and the Gazelle is in a non a/c room..perhaps later in the evening it will cool of. At least Curves is Air Conditioned.

And anyone else I missed who is participating. Saw DP say she might be looking at going back too. So maybe a new poster to keep each other going!

I am still trying to be pretty consistent with going to curves 5 or 6 times a week. yesterday I took the day off...didnt exercise at all..afternoon I had the kind of headache i get from tight muscles in the upper neck. I took 2 advil, used a heating pad and by evening things had loosened up..that scenario has happened afew times in the last week and if I pushed and forced myself to exercise on one of those "bad" days...the muscles stayed tight. I do stretch and stuff but I think my body is still getting accustomed to daily exercise and sometimes I over do it. A day off once in a while is a good thing!

Okay, i finally got to Curves after about 2 weeks off and about 2 weeks before that - I never realized how busy i am and how totally unwilling to exercise with NO a/c at home and a busy family life.  Don't know if I'll make it there tomorrow - this will sound stupid, but if I don't go first thing in the AM (before i have anything else planned, so I can come home and shower afterward) I just don't go.  I just sweat so much that I cannot go out in public after i go to Curves.  Tomorrow, my kids and hubby have a volleyball scrimmage (from 9 - 12) which i have to attend to provide snacks for, and after that we have to get new tires on my daughter's car (before we take her back to college on Sunday) and pick up her new sleeper sofa from the furniture store.  Also have to get my other daughter to the beauty shop to have her face waxed (just eyebrows and lip, actually) before volleyball pictures on Saturday, which I will have to be there for......I have a busy life for not haveing a real job - certainly nothing that I can earn income from.

Whoops - sounds like I am griping a little - sorry!

Ann (pottervb)

This past week I only made it to curves 3 times. I also find that I need to go in the morning or I put it off and sometimes don't go at all. Using the Gazelle in this heat has been out of the question so it is Curves or nothing..well not exactly nothing cause I do walk..alot..and the gardening is exercise too.  Sat..I went to curves..that was yesterday..that is a pretty busy day and those people prob just go once a week!! The music was particularly aweful!! I had to keep encouraging myself to actually finish the workout..and I think I just made 2 cycles and not the half that would be the complete routine.
Hey..I was never an exercise person..so I pat myself on the back for starting to exercise regularly. there are still weeks i go 5 or 6 times and weeks I don't go more than 3.

Thpugh I have a sense that this thread doesnt get read much I want to use it to encourage all those people who have started the Curves program to stay with it! I am back to going at least 4 times a week (sometimes 6) and it is such a thremendous help in keeping numbers low and spirits high.
