View the details of this row. hitracelyn28 Osteopathia Striata w/cranial scelrosis, tracheostomy & hearing aids Georgia meeting others within the special needs community hoping to return to work next year once my little girl goes to preK [email protected]
Hey, I'm Tracey married to a wonderful man by the name of Brian and we have a precious 3 year old daughter named Shelby Lynn. We reside in Waynesboro,GA. My days are filled with joyous moments spent with Shelby. My husband and little girl are my life. I am a devoted Christian, wife, mother, & volunteer for the Center for New Beginnings- www.nbeginnings.org (our local non-profit Christian Center for the Special Needs) and also volunteer 1 morning a week at our Church's BiblePlaySchool Program. At the Center, I serve as the Parent Support Coordinator providing resourceful information to other parents as well as hosting monthly Parent Support Group meetings where we as parents can come together to get away from life's everyday struggles as being parents of special needs children for just a brief moment.

Little More about Me........

My daughter and I both have a trach. We both have a rare syndrome, Osteopathia Striata with Cranial Scelrosis. This syndrome has several different names and variations. Abnormalities include: severe obstructive sleep apnea (which causes us to be tracheostomy dependent), very small nasal cavity/passages, hearing impairment, cleft palate, GI issues, very large bones (facial structure issues), dental issues, developmentally delayed, etc. Life span is normal there is no cure, and only a handful of people worldwide with it. I have had my trach for about 25 yrs and have done well if I have to say so myself. Shelby received her trach in 2006, she continues to thrive each day. I look forward to meeting others with similar backgrounds and hope to shed a little bit of hope and inspiration to others. I have posted our story in journal section  to share a little hope, inspiration and know that God is Good All the Time. Please visit Shelby's page for current family updates: www.carepages.com page id: babyshelby

I am currently in transition as I try to go onto SSDI.  I have worked with people with disabilities in some capacity for over 25 years.  I am at a point where I must look at the wear and tear that is occurring with my own body, thus I am now looking at going on disability.  I am hoping that the new free time will allow me more time with my family and friends, something that has been at a very low level while trying to work.
I am active in the local bicycling community as a United States Cycling Federation official.  I am still able to ride my bike, though not as far as I would like, which keeps me active without wear and tear on my joints.
I have 2 wonderful children, and we are expecting my second grandchild any day now.

California My passion is Writing To give of myself to others, because I should, to be a light in other's lives, to avoid Cancer if I can...to inspire others to reach for their goals, even if they are small goals, at first! [email protected]
I was hit by a drunk driver head on going 80 in 1974 and am a disabled vet, age 55, a long time writer, just a quiet soul. I try to help everyone I can. Because I have had IBS for 6 months my diet changed drastically and I hope my Cancer risks have been lowered! All one can do is try to eat healthy and hope for the best! I am for the most part pain free, having to wear 2 back supports 24-7 , but I am happy and that is all that counts. I wish you all a great day. If you like ghost stories feel free to drop by my author website at www.whendarknesscomes.com

If you have lower back pain, believe me, you do NOT have to accept that back pain. The 2 $25.00 back supports I wear help me to escape 90% or more back pain. I wear them 24-7 and hardly notice them. Mine came from wal-mart and you may only have to wear one, and perhaps your life will be better. I hope it will. If anyone would like to learn more about what you can do to help prevent Cancer, please e-mail me. I can e-mail you several files and you can be much more informed as to all the little things that will make a big difference in your health.

I am fairly new at living my life with limitations and haven't figured out what this all means to me. Everyhing wasimportant is missing in my life.  I lost my independence when I was told I couldn't drive unless I have modifacation made to my car.  I haven't been able to get this done so still stranded.  I was a truck driver before this and spent my time exploring the country.  Now I can't get to the store. I don't have my job anymore either. I was told that I can't go back.  I look at job ads and don't know what I can do.
If anyone can help me figure out how to get through this and win I would like to here from you. I have so many feelings about this that I don't understand. The doctors said this was as good as it will get and discharged me.  I just don't know how to life with with what I have to deal with.
