51 years old retired on disablity after 30 years of public work,

I am always looking for opportunities to pass on some of the experance and answers I have learned through my life, hoping they will help someone else along their journey.

hello. i would love to share information on benefits for the disabled in other states. where i live you cannot get decent housing on a sliding scale. i've been on the waiting list since 1996; and if you saw the housing you must take if and when it comes up..........well......hmmmmm. only section 8 housing is offered to the disabled here. i am 49 but no one believes it? i have 3 grown sons. away. and widowed. i've had fatique and weakness since 1996; but work hard at living normally as possible! this year i had my lumbar re-built. my first traumatic surgery. bone degeneration. recovering well and researced thoroughly on how to avoid as much degeneration as possible. still...........living as normally as possible. i enjoy life and fun and have a goal to enjoy it even more. hoping to meet some sweet people across the us. mozarta.

HELLO TO ALL, AND THANKS FOR THE WELCOME. I AM 47 YEARS OLD AND A GRANDMOTHER OF TWO AND SOON TO BE THREE. I HAVE BEEN BEEN WITHOUT MY ARM FOR 23 YEARS AND CANCER WILL BE 11 YRS IN AUGUST OF THIS YR.

I AM VERY HARD HEAD LADY,AND VERY INDEPENDENT,BUT SOMETIMES YOU STILL NEED HELP. MY ONLY SON WAS FOUND TO HAVE CANCER WHEN HE WAS 22 MONYHS OLD AND NOW HE SOON TO BE 23 YEARS OLD. HE IS A MAJOR HELP HE MADE A PROMISE TO MY FATHER BEFORE HE DIED NOT TO LEAVE ME ALONE AND WE HELP EACH OTHER.

I have really been enjoying being part of your group.

I'm a casemanager for United Cerebral Palsy Assoc. and I am just starting my new job this week, this is something I have had to do to help ny son, all of his life so far, and with the medicaid waiver he is living independantly out in the community with supports in place to help him. Age 46, on disability retirement from company I worked for 17 years. Job related injury. Took to long to find injury, problems arose from the time.

Want to experiance other people's interests throughout the US to stay interested in life.

I am currently in transition as I try to go onto SSDI. I have worked with people with disabilities in some capacity for over 25 years. I am at a point where I must look at the wear and tear that is occurring with my own body, thus I am now looking at going on disability. I am hoping that the new free time will allow me more time with my family and friends, something that has been at a very low level while trying to work.

I am active in the local bicycling community as a United States Cycling Federation official. I am still able to ride my bike, though not as far as I would like, which keeps me active without wear and tear on my joints.

I have 2 wonderful children, and we are expecting my second grandchild any day now.

its very diffifult for me to have to depend on others

I THINK I GET ALONG WITH PEOPLE THAT ARE DISABLED MORE THAN OTHERS. BECAUSE WE UNDERSTAND BETTER. I FEEL BETTER ALSO.MY OTHER HALF IS DISABLED TOO.

I suffered a minor stroke from a ruptured brain aneurysm I still have 2 left that at this point nothing can be done with them I hurt my back at work which caused 2 buldging disks @L1, L4 I love to chat and get letters. aneurysms run in my family Dad had 3 and stroked right after surgery I took care of him for 11 years till his death 5 years ago he was bed ridden my sister died 14 years ago for a ruptured brain aneurysm and my dads brother died the same year from the same thing

I have been having a really hard time coping the past month or so. I would love to go somewhere in the South Pacific. I have had no vacation since 6-'92 when my daughter was shot through the face by her fiance'. She was never suppose to wake up but she surprised everyone. We have no family support up here in Alaska. I got my asso. of arts about a month before she was shot. Tell me about your selves--PLEASE.

I'm a 50 year old female. My 20 year old son lives with me. This arthritis has affected my life. I don't want to go anywhere or do anything. My doctor says that if it's not RA, I have excessive wear and tear on my body. I am currently being treated for OA...but the medication does not help. My fingers are starting to disfigure. To all who post me I will return an answer. It gets lonely being in the house all the time, doesn't it?

Would like to chat with others who no what its like to go through lifedisabled.
