After a long decisin I have decided I need to get out there and meet other people. I need to know that I have a right to be accepted as I am and liked for that person. I am hoping to networking with others in simular situations. So, let's here from you!

I have been having a really hard time coping the past month or so. I would love to go somewhere in the South Pacific. I have had no vacation since 6-'92 when my daughter was shot through the face by her fiance'. She was never suppose to wake up but she surprised everyone. We have no family support up here in Alaska. I got my asso. of arts about a month before she was shot. Tell me about your selves--PLEASE.

I am a person who always looks for the positive in everything and this has been my salvation since being diagnosed with Scleroderma. It is a very lonely disease as it affects so few of us, our disabilities are mostly invisible. Pain, internal problems, and chronic fatigue are not visible to others unless they know you, this can be a blessing but can also cause large problems. I am interested in the attitudes of the disabled. I am writing about my experiences with Cerebral Palsy--poetry and short stories. My goals: 1.Create an anthology for publication. 2.Research Sociology/Phenomenology of Disability--perception of disability by the disabled--its expression in their writing. 3.Master's in Sociology/Social Work and PhD in Disability Studies. I need academic research and writers who identify as being disabled who are willing to share their experiences and their writing.

I'm not the one to talk about me being brain damaged. It happened when I was born so it's extra harder on me to even think. I'm just saying thatbecause of experiences I have gone through, I would like to help. In other words, I'm there for you no matter what.

I cant wait to get to know everyone.

I was born with dystonia ,in1996 i was hit head on by a drunk driver , after i came out of coma the docs told me i'd never walk again , they where wrong , i have osteo arthritis in every bone that was broken and except for arms that was pretty much all of the rest . I like to laugh and my sense of humor is just a tad wee warped , looking forward to meeting all of you .

this disease sucks they said about 4 yrs. ago i will not live 6 months well everything is dead inside and does not work but at least one does lol, i am a cheap date, i am on only liqiuds once in awhile a real meal but i am still going, they do not know how to treat it and if i got it as a kid i would of been gone by know but since it happen at 33 yrs. old they do not know, i went to the mayo clinic in minn. they were great and some nice looking doc's but everyone was so great and treat me like someone, i felt like a queen all you have to pay for is you hotel bil,lot's of money if your there long but the weather stays at 75% and it was just great, althougth all the girls were alittle bigger then me, i am a twig, i wish i had there meat, but space it out in the right places, lol dream on, i stuck with this one, ....i have 3 kids of my own and raised 2 from a marriage so 5 all togather, they still come see me, with out there dad hear , but anyways, i am just happy to be hear every day and have no room to feel sorry for myself peed off but well what are you gonna do, i try to live life to the fulless even if tends me in the hospital, for over doing it, but that is a vacation my rest one, then the other i go...go..go.. you will findind me taking walks at 2am just because i cannot sleep why sit there,or i will rake leaves or clean up out side whatever, go dancing when i can what ever, well i do not want to write a book ......

Hello everyone, I am so glad that I have found a place where people can understand how I am feeling. I am a single parent and I feel like I am starting a new chapter in my life. I am a braille reaer but I am so thankful for the computer. Looking forward to getting to know you. I also love a good cup of coffee. That makes my day.

hello. i would love to share information on benefits for the disabled in other states. where i live you cannot get decent housing on a sliding scale. i've been on the waiting list since 1996; and if you saw the housing you must take if and when it comes up..........well......hmmmmm. only section 8 housing is offered to the disabled here. i am 49 but no one believes it? i have 3 grown sons. away. and widowed. i've had fatique and weakness since 1996; but work hard at living normally as possible! this year i had my lumbar re-built. my first traumatic surgery. bone degeneration. recovering well and researced thoroughly on how to avoid as much degeneration as possible. still...........living as normally as possible. i enjoy life and fun and have a goal to enjoy it even more. hoping to meet some sweet people across the us. mozarta.

I JUST LIKE BEING ABLE TO GET THROUGH THE DAY WITHOUT ANY MAJOR MANIC EPISODES OR TO DEEP DEPRESSIONS.

My name is BlueLilly. My birthday is October 16, 1978 ( so I'm 23 as of 02/12/02 ). I have known all my life that I was different from others. I was diagnoised with Deppresion and Social Anxiety Disorder around July of 1998.

I have sense been diagnoised with Chronic back problems. I am currently signed up to start my first PT for these back problems.

My goal for this site is too have people I can talk to and who can relate to the problems I have. I am also just plan looking for more friends :-) Maybe online as well as offline. You never know.

HELLO TO ALL, AND THANKS FOR THE WELCOME. I AM 47 YEARS OLD AND A GRANDMOTHER OF TWO AND SOON TO BE THREE. I HAVE BEEN BEEN WITHOUT MY ARM FOR 23 YEARS AND CANCER WILL BE 11 YRS IN AUGUST OF THIS YR.

I AM VERY HARD HEAD LADY,AND VERY INDEPENDENT,BUT SOMETIMES YOU STILL NEED HELP. MY ONLY SON WAS FOUND TO HAVE CANCER WHEN HE WAS 22 MONYHS OLD AND NOW HE SOON TO BE 23 YEARS OLD. HE IS A MAJOR HELP HE MADE A PROMISE TO MY FATHER BEFORE HE DIED NOT TO LEAVE ME ALONE AND WE HELP EACH OTHER.
