Hi -  I am about to start a yoga class for tsomen over 55.  Has anyone any experience with this.  I need to lose weight and have been working out at our community wellness center.  Yoga, I hope, will be another way to get and stay on track.

Jeanne

Hi, I have been doing yoga for, well, I don't remember how long actually.  I have many tapes and DVDs, some are power yoga = you work up a sweat; others are mid range, and others are all relaxing and easy stress relieving moves.  So depending what I am looking for that day, is which one I choose to do.

I love it, alas, I have some neck problems, and it can aggravate that, but I still do yoga 2 maybe 3 times a week as I feel the benefits outweigh the slight neck pain afterwards.

I hope you enjoy the class!  hugs,  Josie.

I was doing some yoga over 30 years until I got pregnant for the first time.  I never went back to it.  I don't think my body could take it now.

Hi, I have done yoga for years.    Outside of my few days at a spa last year where they had yoga classes, I have always done it at home by myself.  They make a lot of yoga tapes/dvds to choose from.    You can find beginning ones all the way up to very strenuous power yoga ones.
Collage videos has a lot and they list if they are beginners, intermediate etc.   A lot of tapes show various levels to follow, one doesn't have to be a size 6 pretzel to do them.
Also I get the Living Arts catalog at home, they have ones,
and I have also bought them at Borders book stores that have a lot of dvds/videos for sale.
I try and do some yoga at least couple times a week, I love the stretching, and the relaxation features of it.
try it, you may get addicted like I have!  hugs,  Josie
