Hi all!

We (myself and my husband) were on our way home Friday night from a football game and I witnessed the most beautiful sight.... a falling star. It was not like the normal falling star it was much larger and more brilliant. I have heard several stories such as its bad luck or good luck to see a star burn out. I consider myself lucky and blessed to have witnessed it. But it still makes me wonder if it really signifies anything...

Hi Paula:      I looked up Falling Star and found this:

I don't think it's bad luck I think it's GREAT!  My husband has a knack for seeing them, and everytime he says "look", it was alreading too late, and I seldom get to see them.

Maybe you were out in the dark, away from city lights, on the wide open road,..........as they say they are meteorites.

Usually the stars and falling stars are indeed hard to see with all the lights of the cities.
In the US you still really have intense dark places where no light other than from the stars and moon can be seen. In the Netherlands there is hardly any spot where it is completely dark. It's not good for wildlife either. The animals need darkness. Soundproof would also be nice!!
