Hello

Could you please tell us where they lived, and when, and names of children.  It would be a huge help.  We have found some possible families but need more info from you first.

Thank you.

Thanks Marian but the census forms you downloaded are not the correct census forms for this family.  1871 census: RG10/2905/85/18 Burton on Trent, Staffordshire. Schedule No. 61, Court 5, New St. also 1881 census: RG11/2735/80/12 Longton, Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, Schedule No.68, 28 Edensor Rd. Pages 12 & 13 are the correct census forms.  Regards Joan

More info. on Martin Brennan & Ann.  They lived in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.  1st son Patrick appears to have been born in Roscommon, Ireland.  So, I assume marriage also took place there also, as I cannot find a registered entry in England.
Children to the marriage: Patrick c.1859, John c. 1862 , Thomas c.1864, Ellen c.1865, Ann c.1867, Margaret b. 16/10/1868, Mary c.1870, all Burton Upon Trent, Katherine c.1873 & Mary Ann c.1878 both Longton, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
Thanks for the offers of help.
Regards Joan

Thanks for all the help.  Yes, Mike you do have the right family in the 1881 census.  I have had no trouble finding them in the English census records, but I cannot find where in Roscommon, Ireland they came from to be able to proceed back into their Irish heritage.  It would have been nice if more had been details had been filled in the IGI.
Regards Joan

Thanks Mike, this is great!!!  I now have somewhere in Roscommon to continue on.  My mistake for not absorbing what you sent earlier.    You're a star
As you mention it is too close not to have some merit.  Thanks again.  Joan
