John Cloherty married Emma Dicker
Emma was born daughter of an Army Major Edwin Dicker and Margaret O'Malley at London Middlesex England married at Germany Ireland 1837 when aged 19 years and had two daughters by James Hoare . When Emma immigrated with her new husband John Cloherty, the two girls Marion , then 32 yes and Ellen, 36 would most likely be married by that time and presumably stayed back home in Ireland. I have found no mention of them again.
They landed at Moreton Bay on the ship "Corlic" which left Glasgow on the 30th of October 1874 and arrived in Brisbane five months later on the 9th of March 1875. John Cloherty died of food poisioning in 1876 just one year after his arrival. Emma lived for many years eventually after having livied a full life, died of heart disease, senile decay , gastroenteritis and exhaustion. Colleen Walker, grandaughter said that she remembered visiting her grandmother at Breakfast Creek Hamilton and that they kept race horses there. Another daughter grand-daughter died in infancy and was buried with Emma at Toowong Cemetry.
Emma's 2 Daughters Also migrated to Australia and had families

Hi Mike,

I realy don't know where Emma Dicker married her first Husband I have tried to find it Myself Emma is My GGGrandmother Her 2 Daughters Married and their Decendants live in Queensland Australia With all the information I have, regarding the CLOHERTY Family  I  have absolutely nothing on those left behind in Ireland .I will try and Link some of the names you have given me .I realise a lot of Irish info was lost in the Fires etc . There was talk going around the Family Years ago about Hannah MCHugh and the Orange Movement Probably hearesay as The Cloherty's were Catholics My Grandmother was Marion Rose Cloherty she married a Davis
.Kind regards Marion Rose Key (Davis )

Hi Marian Thank you.Its just that i dont want to go over work you have already found.I have seen some of your info,So that might help.As you said most info was lost in the Fire. The remaining census are the Tithes and the Griffiths. If they were Farmers This info Can be usefull.I will Try to see if i can find any more info.So please bear with me.There are also Directories,That sometimes help,Depending on Where they lived.

Hi Marian, I am starting by checking out John Hoare.there was a Marriage thats fits in Limerick  Its the next county to Galway
There was a Civil Marriage in 1833.None for 1837

Church Marriage Hoare John 1833 Co. Limerick

There were two births that also fit,I am adding the two others because unsure
Limerick Was a Garrison town In the Early 1800s
So if Her father was in the Army And a Major would Probably Have been there
There was only one Marian Hoare listed in Ireland ,For that time

Church Baptism Hoare Marian 1839 Co. Limerick

Church Baptism Hoare Ellen 1838 Co. Limerick

Church Baptism Hoare Ellen 1839 Co. Limerick

Church Baptism Hoare Ellen 1842 Co. Limerick

Again these can be Purchesed Via the I.F.H.F

Hi Mike
You have hit the Nail on the Head .That Marriage would Have Been Emma  Dickers ,( HOARE then CLOHERTY) Her Father was A Major in the Army The Baptisms for the 2 Girls MARION HOARE and ELLEN HOARE would also be right The girls also came to Australia and their decendants live in Queensland.I will keep your information, check with mine and as it looks conclusive will add to mine. I have a Tree on Genes Reunited and Tribal pages .From what I can gather they were a seafaring family My Great Grandfather William Cloherty One of Johns sons Was a Lighthouse KeeperOn (Moreton Island Queensland Aus.) Some of John Cloherty's other sons entered the maritime service. I have no Idea about Farmers perhaps some of them were .All  Family who would know something have Passed away . I am 80 Myself and started genealogy about 12 years ago to leave something behind for my Family
Thank you for your Help
Marion
