There children were Michael, Edward, and John. (asumed to all have been born in Ireland)

Please can you let us have more information to go on.  Which part of Ireland were they from?  There were eight million people living here back before the Famine.  Did they emigrate?  If so, when, and where to?

Please give us all the details that you already have to help us in the search.  There is no use in going over old ground that you have already covered.

Thanks.
Marian

Hi again

If you do not know where the three sons were born, then we need to trace them first before going back to their parents.  Please post details of the family that you do know already, which is probably your grandparents and/or great grandparents.  Then we will take it from there.

I await hearing from you.

Edward Cuddy (born about 1823 died before 1885) married Margaret Ready (all children born in Ireland)
  • Michael Cuddy (born 1843 died May 16, 1926) married Catherine Burbage (all children were born in Ontario Canada)
    • William Cuddy (born May 1874) marrieed Margaret Moriarty
    • Edward Cuddy (born 1874)
    • Michael Jr. Cuddy (born May 28, 1876 died May 16, 1926) married Bridget Moriarty
      • Mary Cuddy (born Apr 22, 1901) married Wilfred Spooner
    • Annie Cuddy (born June 12, 1878) married Francis Dwyre
      • Michael Francis Dwyre (born Feb 9, 1904 died Feb 20, 1998)
    • John Cuddy (born Aug 7, 1880) married Lina Lepine
    • Patrick Cuddy (born Sept 2, 1885 died Jan 26, 1919) married Catherine Agnes Moriarty
      • Patrick Cuddy (born 1919 died Dec 28, 1919)
    • James Cuddy (June 9, 1887 died Jan 1, 1964) married Ernistena Hehmkie
      • Mary Cuddy (born Nov 25, 1918 died Oct 14, 2003)
    • Catherine Cuddy (born Apr 27, 1890 died May 28, 1977) married August Carl Kauffeldt

    • Edward Cuddy (born Jan 29,  1889)
    • John Cuddy (born Jul 11, 1887)
    • Thomas Cuddy (born 1890)
  • John Cuddy (born about 1864)

I have never heard where my family roots have come from in Ireland nor do I know where they first settled. I do know that James (1887) settled in Renfrew County before he was married. I know that Michael (1843) is burried along with his wife at the Cemetary in Latchford Bridge Ontario, Canada.

I have started looking for Edward and Margaret's children in the Irish Family History Foundation records.  Please bear in mind that their records are not yet complete, since only 19 of the 32 counties are presently online.  You did not say if you have copies of any marriage certificates.  I could not find any matching Cuddy/Burbage marriages.  Perhaps they were married in Canada?  I found the following baptisms a few years either way of 1843:

Action Source Surname First Name Year County
Church Baptism Cuddihy Michael 1838 Co. Kilkenny
Church Baptism Cudihy Michael 1839 Co. Kilkenny
Church Baptism Cuddy Michael 1840 Co. Roscommon
Church Baptism Cudihy Michael 1841 Co. Kilkenny
Church Baptism Cuddy Michael 1842 Co. Kilkenny
Church Baptism Cuddy Michael 1843 Co. Roscommon
Church Baptism Cuddy Michael 1843 Co. Kilkenny
Church Baptism Cuddihy Michael 1844 Co. Tipperary
Church Baptism Cuddy Michael 1844 Co. Tipperary
Church Baptism Cudy Michael 1845 Co. Roscommon
Church Baptism Cuddihy Michael 1846 Co. Tipperary
Church Baptism Cudihy Michael 1846 Co. Tipperary
Church Baptism Cudihy Michael 1846 Co. Kilkenny
Church Baptism Cuddihy Michael 1847 Co. Kilkenny
Church Baptism Cuddy Michael 1847 Co. Kilkenny
Church Baptism Cuddihy Michael 1848 Co. Tipperary
Church Baptism Cuddihy Michael 1849 Co. Kilkenny
Church Baptism Cuddihy Michael 1850 Co. Kilkenny
Church Baptism Cuddy Michael 1850 Co. Kilkenny

These are baptisms and births for Catherine Burbage.  As you see, Burbage is a Longford/Leitrim name:

Action Source Surname First Name Year County
Church Baptism Burbage Catherine 1839 Co. Longford
Church Baptism Burbidge Catherine 1849 Co. Longford
Church Baptism Burbage Catherine 1853 Co. Leitrim
Church Baptism Burbage Catherine 1863 Co. Leitrim
Church Baptism Burbage Catherine 1865 Co. Leitrim
Civil Birth Burbage Catherine 1866 Co. Leitrim

I will now search for the others.

I think that Cuddihy Edward 1822 miight be the right one.
In my post Edward and Margarets children are in bold followed by there childrens children and so on.
Michael, Edward, and John were married in Brudenell Ontario Canda and all there children born in the area.

I don't have any certifacates but I do have some church records. The church in Brudenell had burned in the mid 1900's.

Hi

I found one Edward Cuddy in the Griffiths Valuation for Kilkenny:

Cuddy Edward   Ullard   Ullard   Co. Kilkenny

Ullard is the name of the townland and also the parish.  It might be worth your while contacting the churches in the area, as you might find the baptism records of the three sons there.  Then you would know for sure.
