Hi after going off down the wrong track i have finally managed to find my Grandads mum maiden name. This i have found out by pure luck as i posted a look up on Genes Reunited for someone else in our family and i had a message from someone who is my second cousin. It turns out that her grandma and my grandad were brother and sister. So we have exchanged lots of info and the feeling is great to find a living relative as my mum thought we were the only ones on the go still lol. So now i am looking for any information on Eliza Ann Allberry who married James Jacobs in Lambeth area in the 1880/90's having children Mary Ann, Henry Charles, George, Emily and Victoria i know that they all show on the Census records but i dont know how to go about finding out about her parents etc. if anyone can help me i would be very grateful. many thanks Dee

Thank you both for that information and yes Kay i have a lot to digest here but i do know you are on the right track and if it wasnt for all the help i have received from you all i would never got as far as finding a second cousin and we have so much to talk about but the uncanny thing is there are so many similarities between us including having the same names and interests. My mum was really pleased when i told her that i had found her cousin as she didnt think there were any relatives on her side still alive and also it has been confirmed what we always believed and that we are of Jewish decent but still to work out where from lol. I will be back with more questions for you but all i can say at the moment thank you so much your hard work is very much appreciated, i have told all my friends about these groups as they are fasinated by what i am doing, i only wish i had done this years ago. once again many thanks to you Kay & co. Hi Kay Just to let you know that i have left a message on the S surname board if you really do fancy a challenge and if you can come up with any information i would really appreciate it. But as good as you are and have been i think you may just hit a stumbling block (i hope not) on this one as there isnt a lot of information to be going on with and i dont even know where to start to look. Not sure if anyone will be able to help. I am tracing the Allberry line of our family at the moment and it has got so confusing. I just wondered if you could find any information on Ann Smith born 1806 in Ireland and married George Allberry born 1800 from Chislehurst. They went on to have at least 7 children. Also i have my g.g. Grandfather Edwin Allberry married to Eliza Ingram born 1841. I have all of Edwins side of the family but wonder if possible could you find anything out on Eliza Ingram. I know her father was John Ingram born c 1793. I am sorry if this has confused you as it has me, but if you have time and you could find any of the above info I would really appreciate it. I have just found a second cousin on here about a month ago who I didnt know existed and between us we have managed to get back as far and John Ingram. But thats as far as we have got and the list is so long I am getting frustrated now. Best wishes Dee

Hi again Dee I've had a look for births of Ann Smith 1806 in Ireland and as you can imagine with a surname of Smith there are quite a number! To add more confusion there are also variations on spellings - Anne and Smythe, for example. However, having done a search for the exact year of 1806 (rather than a couple of years either way) and narrowing down the spelling and discounting those with the incorrection spouses, where provided, I have come up with the following: | | | | Event(s): | | Birth: | About 1806 | Of Pullamore, , Cavan, Ireland | | | Christening: | | Death: | | Burial: | Obviously, without a birth certificate there's no 100% certainty this is the correct one but having discounted the others for various reasons mentioned above, it looks a good contender. What do you think? Kay Manager |

Ok Dee Meantime, perhaps you'd check out the messages under SMITH Ann (a separate message there so as not to confuse with the Allberry messages) and also a new message under INGRAM Eliza - perhaps you'd check that out and get back to me. Many thanks. Kay Manager |

Hi all Not been about for awhile as i have damaged a disc in my back and up until yesterday found it hard to sit for long periods at the pc. Today i was having a coffee and started to read a family ancestry file on our family on my dads side, he gave me this a couple of years ago and i have flicked through it but decided to have a good read of it. I can not belive what i found, i have been doing research on dads side of the family for about a year now and getting nowhere and as i was nearing the end of the book what do i find! Its only our family ancestry tree dating back to 200AD. After I had got over the shock i couldnt believe how dumb i had been not to have seen it before. There are a few important people in the tree and some bad ones but to actually see where our family fits in is amazing. All i have to do now is transfer all this onto paper along with our family for my mum and dad and hope that they will understand it and they are not as confused as i am at the moment, but then again i am still getting over the shock. I cant even begin to think what it was like living in 200AD let alone finding our tree dated back to then. The information in this file has been collected over the past 30 odd years by a member of the family. I will keep you posted as to how i get along with re writing it and dont know how many trees worth of paper it is going to take lol Dee

How exciting for you Dee but what a way of going about finding the information - having to hurt your back like that! An enforced rest from the computer has paid dividends though by the sounds of it. Yes do please keep us posted on your progress and in the meantime, perhaps I could just refer you to the Eliza Ingram message board - do you still need help in this area? Best wishes Kay Manager |

Hi Kate thank you very much for that the funny thing about it all is for some reason or another whenever i pick up a book, magazine or any article i always read the back few pages first dont ask me why its just something i have done since a kid. But for some reason i didnt do it with this one, and too think it had been sat there for at least 2 years and i never noticed talk about blonde lol, yeah it was a strange way about learning about the family, but thats me all over do everything backwards, or in this case not lol. Although i am in pain and may need an operation, i think like you said it has paid off even the pain in my back disappeared for a couple of hours. I will check the Eliza Ingram message board as the info i have just found is on my dads side of the family and if i remember rightly i think you may have helped me on that!! Eliza Ingram is on my mums dads side of the family and we are around the 1700 - 1800's so any info that can be found to track them back further would be of great help and very much appreciated.
