Hello Everyone.   Hope you can help.
I think this will be a tough one.  The surname has been spelt quite a few different ways.  GAMMERSWAY,  GAMERESWAY.  In his will it states he was also known by the names GAMMERSTONE GAMMERSTINE.

John was my great great great grandfather.  I would like to find where and when he was born and when and where he and Ann married.  I have a copy of his will but am unable to find a birth or death record.

John Gamersway born abt 1806.  Where and when unknown. Died 11 December 1848 at his residence in Saint Street, St John the Evangelist, Westminster, Middlesex, England.

Spouse:     Ann - maiden name unknown.
In different Census records Ann has stated she was born in Ireland and Scotland.

Children:  Jane 1830 - ?   Georgina 1836 -1880
Census records have both children being born in Middlesex, England.

England Census 1841 shows Ann, Jane and Georgina at St Margaret, Middlesex, England.   NO JOHN.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Kaye

Hi Kaye I THINKwith the Army records we found that John was Born Around 1804.In Heighton County Durham. His Marriage Was not Listed In Heighton Records ,But i think i may have found Johns Father and Mother.
Hi Father was listed as John Garmonsway, He Married an Ann Carter 16th Jan 1878
Marriages from the Heighington Registers (1570-1837.
I know YOUR JOHN also Married an Ann. But this one would be Earlier.Your john would have Married around   1820 to 1825. This is the Only name listed in these registers. It only gives Marriages

Hi Kaye have you managed to sift through Everything yet.It was certainly a lot for you to take in.Just shows What info can really be found from a Will.
The Death cert helped a lot,As it enabled us to find.James in the Army School.so tracking family to Durham.
Without you getting that Cert,I Think family would have taken a lot longer to find..

Not sure how you would go about Finding out out Johns full family other than parish records. The Heighington Records,Dont give a lot Away
