LITCHFIELD ?this is the family that I had the most success with over the years and managed to go back as far as my 11th great grandfather, John (B bet 1540-1550 Little Eaton, Derbyshire; D 1593 Little Eaton, Derbyshire) who married Johanna Baylie (B bet 1548-1550 Derby). I have at least 5 children for them, including Rowland ?my 10th great grandfather. That line goes down to an Elizabeth Litchfield (B 1814 Radford, Nottingham; D 24/9/1887 Australia) who married Thomas Duck and had 13 children.
There have been a few variations with my Litchfield tree when compared to other ancestors ?especially when it comes to the name of my 4th great grandmother. I have documents to state that her name was Sarah Mowbray but others have “proof?that her name was Sarah Litchfield ?a cousin of her husband, John Hornbuckle. I don’t know how there can be proof of both names so any help to uncover the mystery would be great!
