there is talk of thomas mother making divers boots but thats it

catherine had only one child to patrick neary (john michael neary 1868)

we also no that patrick neary was a tailor.

as the famliy no nothink about thomas or catherine, i thought it might be an idea to to start with their death certs.

i have got most of the god parnets to their childern, my grandgfather john arthur langan born 1879 godfather was a john arthur langan, now this could be thomas brother.

the part of liverpool they came to live in (kirkdale) was known as little ireland.

Census do vary slightly they can be out as much as 5 years,You have Thomas Born 1853.So this one i think is a strong Possibility

ive been in touch with john michael nearys greatgrandson

john micheal was married at st johns church in kirkdale the same church as my grandad was christened along with his brothers and sister

i was the last langan to be christened there.

now this john langan in nottingham could be family as my grandads godmother was a maira gill

the family story goes that thomas and catherine where from southern ireland, and that thomas mother made lead boots for divers.

there is no other talk of any other family in england or ireland.

there was a lot of confuseion over who john michael neary was, this only be came clear on one of the census where he is down as stepson to thomas.

catherine died 1902 before thomas who died about 1924, catherine signed by grandads birth cert so we no she could read and write.
