Hi there,
I have been looking for any information on my Fathers family, they lived at 120 Shandon St.Cork in 1925 that is when my father Michael John O'Riordan was born, his parents were Timothy O'Riordan & Catherine Drew, they also had another son Timothy & Kathleen.
Michael migrated to Australia in 1950.Timothy moved to England but I belive that his parents and Kathleen died in Ireland.
Timothy(my grandfather)was a porter on the railway in Ireland(I think) and he past away before Catherine, she died Oct 1946 in Ireland and Kathleen died by drowning(I think).
My father died in 1977 in Australia and I do wish that I had been able to ask him about his family in Ireland.
I would appreciate any information that anyone could steer me in the right direction.
Many thanks
Chooky

Hi,yes this is something that I placed on the net last year.
I am Sharon and not Mike, but I am the same person as Sharon & Mike, only female and not male.Hope it does not change anything with your group.

I have been trying to fit the pieces together with the family tree for a while now but compared to some people I have only just starting as I have heard that some people have been doing it for 40yrs,it is so contagious tho.

Many thanks
Chooky

Hi Chooky,Im sorry i was calling you Mike. When i saw the Message i Realised. You must be Sharon.

Sorry also these things on files are in bits,But you need to go through everything. To get links.

Normally you can find snippets on the Lds site. But in this case not much Showing.

These records are scarce for Tipp,After about 1837 You tend to find a bit. There are a few tipp sites. But limited info.So it means Crawling the web,To see if any other info

I know how frustrating it is Searching,Sometimes you get lucky and .Hit one straight away

We will keep on searching for you,Hopefully next year Nat Archives will have Tipp 1911 On.

I noticed you Had Messages on Ireland calls also,So bear with us Chooky and hopefully Something will turn up

There are a Number of Things on ORiorden and Riorden
Heres one bit

19 November 1836
Of John Riordan, a native of Mallow, County of Cork; he sailed from the Cove of Cork to Quebec about two years and a half ago; when last heard from he was to work in Utica, in the State of New York, it is thought that he went from thence to New Orleans. Any information respecting him will be thankfully received by his wife, Catherine, who resides at Mr. Dyer's, No. 21 Atkinson street, Boston. If this should meet John Carty's eye, who is a native of Mallow, and keeps a store in New Orleans, he will immediately write Mrs. Riordan.
