I am researching my QUINN family from Tipperary, Ireland. The family emigrated to NSW, Australia late 1860s and 1875.

The details I have:

Father: Patrick QUINN born 29/01/1840 Carrick-On-Suir died 17/08/1923 Bellingen, NSW, Australia. Known as John QUINN in Australia.

Mother: Bridget QUIGLEY born 31/05/1839 Kilcommon died 30/08/1881 Bellingen, NSW, Australia.

I cannot locate the births of the two boys born in Ireland before the family emigrated. Thomas was born around 1864 and Martin around 1866. Patrick emigrated in late 1860s and Bridget, Thomas and Martin followed in 1875 on the "Surrey".

Nor can I find when and how Patrick came to Australia in the late 1860s.

Thank you very much,
Bronwyn

Hello Bronwyn

I found these records on the Irish Family History Foundation's Bru Boru site.

Baptism Quin Thomas 1863 Co. Tipperary
Birth Quin Thomas 1864 Co. Tipperary
Birth Quinn Thomas 1866 Co. Tipperary
Birth Quinn Thomas 1867 Co. Tipperary - Parish of Cahir
Birth Quinn Thomas 1868 Co. Tipperary

None of the above were in the parish of Carrick-on-Suir, but the 1867 birth was in the parish of CAHIR, which is where Kilcommon is situated.

There was no Martin Quinn listed in the timeframe that we want - nothing between 1848 and 1880.

You might want to have a search for yourself, as I know how rewarding it can be to find things yourself!  To actually view a chosen record would normally cost Eur 10.00 but today it is half-price at Eur 5.00.
