For those who want a metabolism boost by not eating past 6pm or 7pm, try hot oatmeal made from rolled oats and skimmed milk (add 1 tsp sugar, essence, cinnamon and or fruit if u need to alter the bland taste).

If you are STILL HUNGRY after dinner:

U can boil (or microwave) 1/4 cup oatmeal in 3/4 cup water for 2 mins. Pour it into a blender add the equivalent to half or one single serving of milk (read milk carton or milk package), i usually use 1-1.5 tbsp. skimmed milk powder. Blend until smooth. Makes one serving. Contains about 120-130 calories.

Pour into an ice cream bowl and savour each bite with a spoon at 6pm or 7pm. The oatmeal consistency is usually thick and it staves of my hunger pangs for a good 5-7 hrs; by that time, I would already have had a drink of water, and be almost ready for bed, therefore, I have no time to even DREAM of EATING FOR THE NIGHT AGAIN!

The reason this works is because of the viscosity of the soluble fibre oats naturally contains, it delays stomach emptying because the enzymes in your gut takes such a long time to break it down. This results in a slow and even rise in blood glucose levels, compared to eating a JOLLY RANCHER candy which spikes glucose levels immediately and then less than an hour later, u crash, feeling lethargic and hungry before the candy melts in your mouth.

The hotness of the oatmeal also aids in satiety, so ensure that it's steamy when u eat it!

This trick can also be used by diabetics.

Try it! tell me how it worked for u.

Also, I know this is weird but there is a whey/protien powder called PGX which you can get at Walmart. It is liquid when you mix it but turns to a pudding after a few minutes. Personally, I like the chocolate at night, is full of fiber and other nutrients and has about 100 calories per glass. I mix it at 1/2 what they say too because it is So thick as is. It really does help control cravings I've found.
