I started drinking only my Crystal Light double diluted and coffee with splenda only about 2 weeks ago.

Well I have always had stomach issues after having my gall bladder removed, but in the last week they have doubled. OUCH!!!!!

Its the same gassy feeling, that is relieved by a burp or 2. Except more painful or shall I say harder to pass. Double Rolaids, double Beano, Double rolling around the floor trying to get it to go away.

So I started thinking, what is different, looked up artificial sweetners and found this:

So is this real? Could this change really be causing this horrible digestive issue? Making me sick?

Today I cracked and grabbed a Coke just because I knew it would help me belch - thus releaving some dis-comfort.  Its like everything I put in my mouth today has caused excessive gas (that dosn't wanna go anywhere) wants to hang around and cause PAIN.

Gena - my experience is all I have but many believe artificial sweenteners are really bad.  I think many of us are "sensitive" to them.  Some cause me gas and diarrhea - mostly the sorbital and other alcohol sugars like they put in sugarfree products.
I have a problem with aspartame (Equal) which is in Crystal Light (I believe).
Only Splenda does not bother me.  The only way you can really tell is to eliminate one at a time for a week or so to be sure.
Since being diagnosed with colitis I only use Splenda in one cup of coffee in morning.  Otherwise I stick with small amunts of sugar when I want sweet.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Elaine - I am still trying to get past this pain of gas build up. Stopped the Crystal Light yesterday and used a small amount of sugar in my coggee this A.M.. My stomach is some better as of noon today, but still some bloat left. OUCH!!!!

Again thanks

I use GasX because of colitis when needed!
Also, remember sugar in moderation is ok - only 20 calories a tsp.
