Grannie. I have made new websites on many other places but I am not pleased with any of them , I see that you are also on some of them.
I have deleted my membership from them all except Multiply.
I think that using Multiply does transfer nearly all your existing content, BUT not all your existing members get the invitation to join the new Multiply site.
At least if you go to Multiply you can change again later.
I have several Webs that are about my Family tree I will not change them to Multiply as it is too open to the public.
These I will tranfer then change to let another manager take over.
I find  that if I am at a loss as to doing a certain item I make a trusted member to a tempory assistant to arrange the site for me then remove that person back to a member as agreed beforehand.
I have been appointed assistant to many webs, just to help out, but not wanted to remain as an assistant.
Click on one this one I have transfered but not worked at yet, it gives you an idea of what can be done it is possisible to move from many of my webs there, I will have to remove some, just an insight of what my Old Comrades do get in touch. Shorty

Nice work, Shorty. I had a account on Muliply and hated it. I deleted it.

Lets face it. We are all dissapointed that MSN is closing down. And you will find nothing with the set up that MSN has. There will be a change. Theres no way to get around it. Aimoo is the closest we could find, as of now. Right now it's just a test group. Grannie

Grannie, I am leaving it up to you and the others that know more about setting up and working other sites to make the decision as to where you want to move. I have tried several others and seem to have alot of trouble with all so I really dont know what place to move too. I for sure want to still be apart of the group but it depends on how it works if I will be able to go with you ....Grannie , I appreicate your hard work and I know this is a hard job...thanks so much for what you are doing to keep us together. Hugs Goldie

Thank you members, for giving me your thoughts. I know it is hard for everyone. Me including. It's not easy for me. I have had this group for over 7 years. Now it will be all gone.  I never thought it would happen, but it did. Now, I'm trying to keep us together. I don't want to give up on Grannies Attic. I don't go out much, and this is my life. It's something, I made myself, and it's hard for me to see it all gone.

I see a few have joined the group, but have not posted at all. I don't know why this is?? It hurts me to know that. You are my friends.
Anyway.. I see we now have a chat room, but it's no fun chatting to yourself. lol.  Hugs, Grannie

I really fail to see what you don't like about Aimoo..its safe secure and  you can post the same as you can on MSN even posting a pic is easy once you opeb up a Photobucket account..yes its sad that the groups are closing  and along with Grannie I spent a lot of hours creating groups including on Multiply and found Aimoo the easiest,  YES it means learning a new way but really its no different on Aimoo....you  just click on the relevant thread.......you need to go there more to get used to the layout, and you will really within a few days.

Grannie. I think that your new website will not be able to send the invitations to the old  members as promised because the members have not left a Email Address in their profiles.
Although you show 50 members some have no details so they cant be traced, unless you keep a prtvate list..
I belong to some webs under several names, I have not recieved any invitation from any of those that have closed under any name, I can only assume that they have been intercepted and rejected as junk mail I have sent invitations myself to those members that did exist and I am getting them joining now.
The problem with joining any offered new website is you automatically get your own website, this can worry you if you do not have the time or the know how, it might put some members off, but there is always some body that will help you if you ask, you must remember that nobody knows that you might need a little help, if you do ask,  and we will help if we can.
I use  only now. Aimoo that is slowing down like I got no Broadband, and Multply that has so many shields that they are causing clashes and a lot of messages get delayed for days.
As more change to these webs I wonder if they will cope or start charging after a certain capacity. Shorty

Your right, about the slowing down, Shorty. I rather expected that at Aimoo. With all the groups moving there it is expected. But it's no worst than good old MSN. Aimoo, are handling it quite nicely. And they are great at answering all my silly questions! lol. Hugs, Grannie

Well, it looks like the Coffee Shop is already closed, for 7 hours. At least, they gave  a before warning. MSN never did that!  Grannie

Hmmm... I was so disappointed on seeing MSN winding up the Groups.. Some other Groups have transferred to Yahoo.  I can't access Aimoo from Egypt, possibly a server problem, and I'm sad about that  as I wanted to remain with the Group.  Please help, I would appreciate your views on this matter.
Fiona.
