Are my spectacles too rosy?

At mass yesterday the children getting enrolled for their communion and their parents had to sit up the front of the church. One of the girls had her mother and her mothers boyfriend sitting with her. I know that her dad has her and her sister every weekend so why wasn't he allowed sit with her??? I know that the split was a bitter one and they hardly have a civil word but surely for the child's sake her dad should have been the one?  I was disguisted that he was relegated to the back of the church!

I agree, it should have been the dad, but maybe it was his choice....or even the child's choice?

this is a difficult one i have two children from a first marriage and even after all this time we dont really get but i like to think that for the sake of the kids we could put our differences aside for a couple of hours although the rest of his family namily his brother wouldnt

but in an ideal world it should happen but sometimes it maybe be better for the parents to be sat together

Poor bloke.   I suppose there's 2 sides to every story though and it depends what happened behind closed doors.
