Whats your opinion on this new law thats coming out on thursday? 24 licensing hours. I personal am confused. The government are telling us they are worried about binge drinking being such a huge problem, yet they bring in a law like this
What do you think? Will it make matters worse?

Well I am not a drinker so it wont affect me really but I do think it is wrong........that just gives people more of an excuse to stay out even longer drinking.....maybe the government think by doing this people will not rush at their drinking and so stop binge drinking...but I dont think so, I think it is going to make things worse and feel for the families who will have even less money to spend each week on food etc because it has been drunk away!!!

Me neither

Personally I don't think it's gonna make a huge difference one way or the other - those that are set to get completely rat-arsed will do so, those that just want to have a social drink will be able to do so at their own pace. My opinion is that alcohol is so easily obtained these days from supermarkets etc. that only a fraction of the drinking around the country goes on in pubs and clubs anyway, and those that want to spend all their money on booze will have been doing so before the change to the law
So there we go...it will make no difference to me either way

It may be good for the partners of alcholics, at least they wont be coming home at night rat arsed, pissing the bed! They can just stay in the pub all night.
Seriously though No I dont think it is a good thing at all.
I think considering the amount of money alcohol related illness costs the nhs it's not a good thing to make it easier to drink more.
I think all the problems caused by alcohol will just increase. But who knows time will tell.
