This may sound silly to some of you with me being so young, not saying your old, lol, but maybe you could tell me what you would tell your kids.  I want to drop college.  I'm not doing so good even though I'm doing what I want.  I just don't seem to have the determination to keep going.  No motivation.  My parents thought the choice of a career I made was silly because it doesn't pay alot.  I just don't know what to do.  Should I continue or maybe go into something that would pay more money?  Is this lame or what lol.  Ty for reading this.

I would ask why you picked the career in the first place and say to you that the goals you had then for this career are still there you just have to have the courage of your convictions.

how and why did you pick this career to begin with?
How long have you been on this course? when does it end? and what are the career prospects with it when you pass out at the other end? all these things have to be addressed before you can try to solve the problem you have.
Thrashing out some of your ideas with your parents will help as they may have some solutions to help you realise where you are going wrong as you seem to think you have done and then maybe it will all be a little clearer for you to forge forward in the same path as you are on with more conviction

Good luck

Well Rose the fact that you've said this out loud says something, you
have reached a cross roads, your not happy and have serious doubts.

My advice to you is follow your heart, happiness should come foremost
you really have to enjoy what you do, otherwise whats the point. Its
never to late to change things, your still young, think long and hard...
make a list of the pros and cons, see what you come up with...maybe even
if it was possible take some time out...

I hope you reach a decision your happpy with

Probably a question you need to ask yourself is why you are not motivated? Is it the course or is it a general lethargy that has taken over? I only ask incase you might have an underlying problem that is causing this lack of motivation.

Having said all that.... if you're not happy with what you are doing, even if it was what you wanted to do at the beginning, then change. There is not much point carrying on if your choice of career is not what you now want!

Be true to yourself and not try please your parents! I hope you find what you want to do... it's difficult knowing what you want to do coming straight out of school... I know I certainly didn't know what I wanted to do..

Good luck...

Have you thought of going to your tutor and explaining, maybe ask for a short break to get your head together and think about what you're wanting to do?  That way you're not going to leave and lose your place and maybe regret it later.  Just a thought hun.

Thx, I am glad I could come here and get some advice before I did something stupid lol.  I'm going to talk to my teacher and ask for maybe a small break, although we finish next month anyway.  I think maybe I am just not sure anymore about what I really want to do.  Thx again

Hi Rose, smiles:) You know if you aren't happy with what you are doing, get out and find something you enjoy:) Life is too short to stay in something that doesnt make you happy, try a job for now and thne you can think about your options, loree:):)
