Police are questioning four people - including a 14-year-old boy - in connection with the murder of a woman shot dead while cradling a baby at a christening.

Thirty-two-year-old health worker Zainab Kalako, from Sierra Leone, was enjoying a family celebration when she died

She was gunned down after a gang of men in hooded tops gatecrashed the party at a community hall on the Wood Dene Estate, Peckham, south London.

A post-mortem examination concluded she died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Police said the child was unharmed in the attack, which happened at around 10pm on Saturday.

A spokesman said four males, aged 14, 16, 19 and 33, have been arrested over the death.

The gang of men stole guests' handbags, mobile phones and wine before running away on foot.

Reports say the party was thrown by the baby's parents, Stefano Kalako and his girlfriend, also called Zainab.

It is not known whether the dead woman was the gang's intended target or whether she was caught in crossfire.

How awful is this?! What a horrible thing to happen on what should be such a happy day
