Ok well Joseph soon got the better of his stage fright and, with a little prompting from the wings, quickly had his lines sorted - and knew all the words of the songs and the actions to go with them... in short he was a star! Mary was either VERY loud or inaudible in rehearsals and had us guessing for the performances!

Well dress rehearsal to the rest of the school she was quite quiet, but said both her lines, and managed to be in the right places at the right times!  First performance proper, her mum was there, and the first line was ok (she only had the 2 to remember!) but after that she just stood there with a look of awe on her face, dumbstruck by it all!

At the end of this first performance we had a vote of thanks from one of the governors and all the children sat down, except for Joseph, who had pulled a thread out of his costume and was fascinated by the way it floated up and down when he blew it - he was oblivious to anyone and anything around him... bless!

Second performance was better - Mary regained some of her nerve and apart from holding 'baby jesus' upside down at one point, she did really well.  Joseph's mum was there for this one and he really did do well - all 3! of his lines were fine and he went through the actions brilliantly. and no blowing of threads during the thanks either.... this time he played with the straw from the manger!!
