EASY OVEN BAKE SPLIT PEA SOUP


Ingredients

1 Package (16 oz)dried split peas
8 cups water
1/1/2 cup slice carrotd
1/1/2 cups sliced celery
2 tablespoon watkins onions flakes
2 teaspoon watkins thyme
2 teaspoon watkins chicken soup mix
1 teaspoon watkins celery seed
1/4 teaspoon watkins black peper or to taste
1 bay leaf
1pound fully-cooked smoked kieibasa sausage,sliced
1/4-inch thick,then cut in half

Procedure

RINSE PEAS UNDER COLD WATER. In a 4-1/2 quart dutch oven combin  peas water carrots celery onion flakes thyme chicken soup mixcelery seed black peper and bay leaf. Bake covered at 350 for 2 hour stirring occasionally. Add sausage bake 30 minutes more or until peas are tender and sausage is heated through;remove bay leaf.

notes: if a thinner soup is desired more water may be added.
