She's right about the tingly and ever so slightly warm, but she doesn't mention that the heat increases until it's burning hot 
The interested glances are more in the nature of 'OMG look at that poor woman, I wonder if she's contagious come away dear, just in case'
Indeed my body is like a map - a map of a meteorite - all red peaks and white troughs from the enormous hives that have broken out!
