This week started with me on a course first thing on Monday morning  The supply teacher that was due to be covering my class (one they had had before) was in covering a different class on Friday, so I went and found her after school to discuss what she needed to do on Monday.  We had quite a chat and everything was sorted for Monday morning.  So I arrived in school to pick up one of the other teachers, only to be told that the supply couldn't make it, cos her child was sick, so a different supply would be in soon - there went the whole plan of them having someone familiar!  Anyway I got the secretary to phone through to the other school and explain we would be a bit late... and saw my children in, explained to them that I had to go out, but would be back after lunch, and then the head teacher took over and led them through into the year 1 class for a joint story.  The course was very interesting and afterwards I dropped the other teacher back in school and popped home for some lunch.  Arrived back five minute before the start of afternoon school to be met by the head saying that as the supply was in all day I could have the afternoon to do some ICT stuff.... all very nice but I really needed to be with my class in the afternoon  So I had about 3 mins to tell the supply what to do for the afternoon session, ended up doing the register and stuff because I felt that the children needed to see me, then went off to have an unsuccessful battle with the computer suite!

By Tuesday my little cherubs were definitely in a 'payback' frame of mind, and to make matters worse it was school photo day, so no hope of much semblance of routine with children disappearing in dribs and drabs for family group photos, before the whole class was called.  By the time the photo shoot was over it was playtime.  We came back in after play and I was suddenly aware of a nasty niff - I did a rapid shoe inspection and found that David was the culprit, and an area of the carpet had not come off well I removed his shoes, nearly gagging in the process the smell was so awful - cats or foxes was my best bet - shifted the children to sit in the book corner and went in search of the elusive caretaker.  I eventually found him and he duly arrived with bucket of disinfectant!  So there we were all sat on the floor in the book corner, except Edward, who insisted on climbing on top of the big teddy on the chair.  Three times I told him to get down, and each time he got back up  Until he finally fell off and banged his neck on the cupboard.  I applied a cold pack but very little sympathy!!  The rest of Tuesday seemed to pass with me saying to my TA is it me, or is it them today? and her reassuring me that it was definitely them!

Wednesday we had a very relaxed day, I planned to do very little because I didn't want to be as frustrated with them as I had been on Tuesday, and things were a lot calmer for it. Thursday was a nicer day too - no major upsets.  Friday was another good day, and by the end of it I took the bull by the horns and took them along to whole school assembly for only the second time. ( Apart from a select few who I left downstairs to help 'tidy up' )  Next week we have a team from the LEA in to do a mini inspection - not sure how we will come out of that!
