My daughter phoned nhs direct last week (after a telling of from me to do so) and she told them that she had been gushing blood from her back passage for a few days. They told her to go to bed then phone her doc in the morning.

She did this after another push from me and they saw her straight away. They are now doing test for bowel cancer.....but wait for this....she can't get an appointment for the hossy untill August. How unreal is that. I really think that things like this should be sooner.

When she was little she had a cancer scare and her appointment then was for 7mths away so I went private and she was seen by the same doctor 3 days later. It makes me sick.

OMG thats disgusting having to wait that long,i think it really should be sooner.Hope the tests come back clear.

That is terrible Hazel, they are always saying if they catch things early enough they can be treated yet they keep people waiting. I hope she gets seen soon and there is nothing serious wrong.

So sorry to hear about your daughter and of the terrible long wait to get an appointment at the hospital.

If i were you or your daughter i would make a fuss about that and demand to see someone alot sooner, i know this isnt easy but as you say she needs to be seem now not in two months bloody time,it is awful.

I think she should to back to the Doctors and ask if she could get in sooner, maybe she could say that she is having a lot of pain, might speed it up, hope she is ok.

She has been back to the docs and he said there is nothing that he can do. Some of her results have come back and she has a couple of infections that she is being treated for so that's one thing. She just have to wait now.

OMG Again it is really disgusting!!!

firstly i am really sorry to hear that, and i hope your daughter is fine , hopefully its just a scare and she will be right as rain. and i am sorry to get into the politics of things but this country is a dissgarce whether it be storys we hear like poor micheal shields locked up for a crime another man admitted too , spending already 3 years of his yound life behind bars the stress it has caused his parents, or the story of gary dunne another yound man brutally killed in spain and his family living the agony of authorities not allowing his body to be brough home to the uk , his son has already had his daddy taken from him and he cannot even visit his grave . or stories liek this and in alot of cases much worse with the nhs refusing poeple drugs that could save thier life because it is too expensive ... making people wait months for hospital folloew up,s after being given the frightening news that they could have cancer , woman having there breasts removed due to breast cancer only to fight for years for reconstruction , it is a disgrace , the treatment of oap,s in this country that have worked all there lives to end up with poeple who have never worked a day in there lives better off then them , its disgusting . sorry for going on but it is a rotten country with rotten goverment issues that need sorting out. look at jade goody i really feel for her she has 2 yound children and is now frightend waiting for results to see how far the cancer has spread and what they can do if anything to improve her chances of seeing her little ones grow up, the reality is that there are thousands of woman in exactly the same boat only they are not celebrities and they do not get given keys to a luxuary house to go and relax in the country , they cannot afford the private health care , we are all equals and surely we shoudl all bebefit from the modern day medicine and treatments that we have availible not aonly thw well off or celebrities . anyway thats my opinion and i could go on all day but your probabily bored by now lol
