so bear with me please. I have a new supervisor (new this past month). I've been working on my attitude towards her mostly because I think she's got so much less experience than most anybody else in our department. She was a hot shot top sales person at the company she worked prior to coming to our place. She was hired to be an assistant to my supervisor, but that supervisor decided to go back into sales and get out of mgmt... so she got an instant raise in position. She knows my phone has been out since last week, but I was at work thru Sunday... she could have always called me there if she needed to. I had worked 8 days straight before finally taking a day off yesterday, and won't be going in to the office today until this afternoon. She asks if I'm on my way in (it's 10:30 a.m.) and I say no, but I'll be there this afternoon. Then she asks if I've written anything this week. (I suppose because I'm taking part of the day off) and I tell her no, but it's only Tues morning and since I finally took a day off yesterday, I'd not made any sales for this week yet. (nevermind that I had a decent, if not outstanding week last week, no where near the worst totals) Geessshhh.. I have to be careful since I'm the newbie and she is my supervisior..but she's going to be a challenge. |

There is always someone, that takes the ol power-bit in their teeth, and runs! why the hell is that? They get so power hungry, they forget what its like to be a regular employee, the ones that "make" the place run! Its usually, but not always, a woman too. I hate that, and I hate saying that, but thats what ive found. In your relationship, you sure gotta kiss alittle ass, cause she'll be the one winning, if push comes to shove! I hate that too! I love my boss! Theres a reason for being self-employed! lol gl pj. If you want me to come clean her clock, you just let me know! lol Mw |

I so can understand these bosses who are on power trips and it's mostly because they have little self-confidence in themselves and also, she just might be worried that you'll be able to take her job over and run it like clockwork. I had a boss at MBO back in 1999 who was 11 yrs younger than me and would flaunt her title all over the place and namely w/me, due to the fact, when she seen my resume she thought I might be over qualified to do the data entry level position I was applying for. Sooo any chance she got to tell me what to do, or check my work, she did it w/an air about her that was to say the very least, unprofessional. Soon after beginning employment w/this medical billing company, I left it to get married and I really can say she was happy to see me leave. I could care less at this point though and was off to start a new domesticated life-style. Come to find out at my wedding, that this woman made $1.00 less than me! LOL! It's no wonder she was insecure about me taking her job over... I might be making a whopping $11 an hr compared to the $10 I was making w/less headaches as well. Hang in there Peejay and for the love of Mike, don't let her get under your skin. She wants to see you react. You're way better than this! |

I'm sorry you have to deal with this power hungry AH Peejay. Just grit your teeth and silently wish her breasts drop to her knees and hang there like two deflated balloons. |

I'm in full agreement with MW here. This person obviously is suffering from the the old power via smoke and mirrors syndrome...or "absolute power corrupt absolutely" problem. It happens to most managers that haven't had the proper training in managment proceedures. It's a power thing. I personally feel that you are handling the new pressures well Peej. I honestly believe that if you can find it within yourself to be patient and tactful you will all be better off in the long run. Good luck kiddo. |

Yes, as Star put it, "there's one in every workplace"..! Many managers believe they are better than all the rest, when in fact their job is to provide a service to his/her employees in charge. A missconception of what Leadership really is! They just get sick with power |

Robin.you're being mean....real mean.
can you tell a woman that you hope her breasts will droop???
That's way too funny.
I can imagine if I ever told a woman that.
Women I have met are consientious about something on their teeth.....let alone their pert little titties. |

and PJay tell that sassy little bitch that when she's your age her titties will droop and dangle and she won't be a top salesMAN any more.
Ha we love you and your stories of discontent.
Remember, when your job gets shitty........you have a job. |
