To see exactly what I'm getting myself in for, you can go here: All donations are gratefully accepted--those dollars add up!!! My Plunge partner and I are about halfway to our goal of $600, which earns us a free hotel room and a place to take a hot shower after our polar dip. I have an 'official' fundraising page for credit card donations, but the minimum is $25. Donations of $1 are just as welcome, but will have to be paid by check. Please contact me off-list if you'd like to pledge me and support Virginia Special Olympics. Thanks!! Elly |

I'm not diving in if that's what you mean...lol. I wouldn't do it even if they allowed it. They only have so many divers watching 3,000-4,000 plungers, so they don't like seeing people go under. (Although David always manages to dunk his head under ). But I am going all the way in. You don't really have much choice. With all those people pushing forward, you can't just stop and dip your toe in or you'd get trampled. I'd rather go in on my own steam than get knocked down...lol. |

I took some, but not as many as I wanted. Our towel holders/cheerleaders decided to carpool and they were still driving around looking for a parking space when it was time for us to leave the room. So I couldn't take the camera down to the beach since there was no one to hold it for me. The 'holding pen' where all the plungers gather just before the dip is the best place to get pictures. We did go to the costume contest earlier in the day, and I got some pics there and a few just strolling around. But I missed a lot of my favorites. We weren't very imaginative--we wore headbands with shamrock anntennas, St. Patty tattoos and glasses shaped like green shamrocks. |

Yes Ma'm! I don't know if it was truly colder this time, or if I just had plenty of time to forget how cold it was last time...lol. |

I'm not sure if I could do it in a really cold climate--like where you have to break the ice first. We have a pretty mild winter here--relative to a lot of other places. Our ocean temp is usually in the 40s in February. Cold definitely, but it could be worse! |
