Do you tend to be led most by your head or your heart?
That is a constant battle for me. Most of the time my head wins out, as I have a tendancy to overthink everything. Sometimes I think if I let me heart do the leading I would have a more interesting life!
What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas. I just feel so happy during that time. Don't know if it's all the decorations and lights or just the spirit of giving, I just wish that I could carry that feeling all year long.
If the area you lived in was in the path of a natural disaster, and you were forced to evacuate, what 3 things would you take with you? (Your family and pets are a given)
First I would grab my photo albums. I'm a little obsessed when it comes to my pictures and they are SO incredibly important to me. I would then grab my jewelry box, as I always feel pretty when I have some sort of jewelry on. Then I would grab my journal. I have just started getting into journalling, and find now that I just have to do it each day. It helps me work through my thoughts and emotions that I have a tendancy to bury and if I was going through a natural disaster, I am sure that I would have a few things to put down!
If you were given the opportunity to open your own business, would you do it? And what kind of business would it be?
I'm actually looking at one right now, just don't have the funds to jump into it. I have always wanted to open a Gifts type of store. You know the kind that no matter what kind of day you are celebrating you could find something there to fit the occasion. It would also have to carry Beanie Babies, as I am still a little obsessed with those as well! =)
How do you pamper yourself?
This is something that I have to learn to do better at. I try to give myself a manicure once a week. I love to fill the house with candles, as they have a calming presence on me. My biggest indulgence right now is just to have some time to be still. To have a few moments of each day where everything is quiet, to relax, put on some soft music, read or just to spend some time in reflection. I am also trying to get into the habit of working some yoga into there.
If you could be gifted in one of the arts...music, writing, acting, painting, etc...which would you choose?
It would be hard to choose one, as I love and do a little bit of all of them. BUT, I think the one that would be the most important for me is music. Music has such a HUGE impact on my life, that I wish that I could make my own. I played the flute for many years, but my dream has always been to learn how to play the piano and guitar, that way I could sing and play at the same time. Someday I will be the oldest person in grade 1 piano!
If you had a loved one with a terminal illness who was in constant pain, would you suppport them if they chose to take their own life?
I actually have a friend who has already picked the date that she will exit this world. When she gets to a certain age, she doesn't want to live through her body breaking down and doesn't want to be a burden on anyone. It is her decision alone to do this, and I would have to support her, but I have told her that I don't like the idea and I'm sorry, but I don't want to be there or even know when she is going to do it, but from a purely selfish stand point, I just let her know how sad I would be to let her go.
If you had the opportunity to meet a famous entertainment, sports, or political figure, who would you choose, and what would you want to talk about?
I guess that it would have to be Oprah. She came from such a hard life and built an amazing one out of it. She has so much strength and intelligence that I would be happy to talk to her about anything, as I feel that she could inspire me to do anything.
What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Walking. I am so blessed to live in such a beautful area that there is so much to see.
What lifelong goal are you still trying to reach?
To be happy with my life and not feel like I have wasted it.
What do you consider to be your best quality?
My sense of humor. I love to laugh and make other people laugh. It has been scientifically proven that people that laugh more, have longer and healthier lives.
A friend or co-worker has "forgotten" that they owe you money. It's a small amount, $10 or less. Do you remind them, or let it go?
This has happened and I just let it go. A few bucks is not that important.
Is there a movie you can watch or a CD you can listen to at the end of a bad day that always makes you feel better? And if so, what is it?
There is no particular CD, just any music that is upbeat. Something to get me moving and singing and then the bad day doesn't seem so important.
If someone gave you $1,000 on the condition that you had to spend it today, what would you buy? (You can't pay bills with it)
Only a $1000!!!! I could spend that in an hour, never mind a day! I'm a shop till you drop kinda girl that loves fashion, so I would most likely head to my favorite clothing store.
What's your favorite fast food restaurant, and what do you usually order there?
Haven't eaten in one of those for quite a while. Have been on a new eating plan and have lost 60 pounds. BUT the thing that I miss the most is KFC original chicken and Pizza Hut pizza.
What's your favorite thing about the opposite sex?
That they are men!!!!!! More specifically..............hmmmmmmmmmmmm.............if you are asking me what feature I like most on men, well I always check out their eyes, smile and of course their butt! But if you are wondering about personality, the list could get pretty long.
What's your favorite movie of all time?
Gone With the Wind. It is the movie that turned me onto period pieces.
Whats your favorite thing to do on your day off?
Sleep, I don't get much of it during the week.
How many times have you been in love?
That's kind of a hard one, as I am not too sure if I have ever truly been. I have loved 3 men, but I can't say that I was actually 'in love' with them. For me they are two very different things.
What book are you reading at this moment?
I'm in the middle of a few:
1. 'Hold onto your kids' by Gordon Neufeld (work related, as I am a teacher and it deals with creating connections with children).
2. 'One hundred years of Solitude' by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (Oprah's book club)
3. 'Life after Divorce' by Bobbie Reed (as I am heading down that dark path)
4. '365 Days of Sensational Sex' by Lou Paget (who couldn't learn a few more tricks of the trade!) |
