Outrage over the pic displayed on the cover of a PARENTING magazine.

ok, normally I post topics, and keep my opinions to myself, so the topic dosent become jaded, but I HAD to respond to this one!

As a mother who nursed 2 kids, one through toddlerhood, I am shocked that there would be so much outrage about a baby nursing on the cover of a parenting magazine! I have seen more graphic displays in the grocery store, and it didnt have a damn thing to do with nurishing a child! I think our society needs more pics like this circulated, after all, 50 years ago people would have had a cow at seeing a half naked woman on the cover of any magazine, and because we are so used to it now, no one bats an eye.(Cosmo, Vogue) I believe if the same is done with breastfeeding it too may become the "norm". I'm sooo tired of people putting a sexual twist on breastfeeding, yet not blinking an eye at a young woman wearing a next to nothing bathing suit!

Ok, I'm done venting for now, what do ya'll think about this?

I find it interesting that the woman with the 13 year old says nothing about the other magazines that must have been surrounding it. the anorexic model with her low cut dress stopping inevitably at her belly button. I am assuming Mrs. Ash is the mother of the 13 year old. Question: did she shred it at the book stand or only after she BOUGHT it and took it home?

Read the name of the publication you half witted,looking for a reason to bitch, idiots.

As my wife said,she breast fed our second for quite some time. Yes, sometimes in public. When a baby's hungry , they're hungry.Ya know what I saw? A blouse specially made for breast feeding with a flap, and a sling she carried him in.Between the appropriate attire and a sling that secures the child and covers any image of breast feeding, I felt no insecurity, shame or embarrasment. Then again, did Eve use Playtex?

Worry about Hustler, Playboy and the other smut on T.V., movies, and the internet, and even the schools, and use your supposed intellect teaching your kids nurturing is ok,and TEACH them the difference between that and trash. By reading some of the responses though, I have my doubts these women know.
