I can see and understand this. I mean it's one thing to televise the slaughter of a total stranger, but to apply this same method when it comes to their " bed buddies", well, they have to draw a line in the sand, sit baaaaack and prioritize.

Utah boy hid, fearing ‘someone would steal him?/STRONG>
Rescued 11-year-old's mom says Pokemon cards provided a boost

Brennan Hawkins, 11, is kissed by his father, Toby Hawkins, as they arrive at Children's Hospital Tuesday in Salt Lake City.

BOUNTIFUL, Utah - The 11-year-old boy lost for four days in a mountain wilderness did just what he had been taught, his parents said Wednesday: He stayed on his trail and avoided strangers, even though they were searching for him.

Brennan Hawkins was found in good condition Tuesday by a volunteer on an all-terrain vehicle who was out looking on his own, miles outside of active search grids.

Brennan left Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City early Wednesday, said Bonnie Midget, a hospital spokeswoman.

One of the first things he asked about was whether the Pokemon cards he ordered had arrived yet, his parents said.

“He ordered them on eBay last week, and I tell you, that’s what got him off that mountain,?his mother, Jody, said. “They were here.?/P>

“Those things kind of give us an indication he’s alright,?his father, Toby Hawkins, told reporters Wednesday outside the family home in Bountiful. “He’s doing remarkably well. Brennan continues to amaze us.?/P>

Stranger danger kept him in hiding
The boy hadn’t been able yet to communicate much about the time he was lost.

The Hawkinses said Brennan didn’t remember much and they don’t plan push him to talk about his four days in the woods. “It’s going to take a while to get everything out,?Toby Hawkins said. “This is how he approaches all situations.?/P>

They described the boy as social immature, but not mentally disabled.

The parents said Brennan had seen people searching for him on horse and ATV, but avoided them because of what he had been taught.

“He stayed on the trail, he avoided strangers,?Jody Hawkins said. “His biggest fear, he told me, was that someone would steal him.?/P>

They said they hadn’t talked to Brennan and his four siblings about what they should do about strangers if they were lost. “This may have come to a faster conclusion had we discussed that,?Toby Hawkins said.

Uphill path
Part of the delay in finding Brennan was caused because he defied conventional wisdom: He went up hill instead of down.

Sheriff Dave Edmunds had said Brennan would have been more likely to head down a river valley from a 530-acre Boy Scout camp in the Uinta mountains. “Typically children walk downhill, along the least path of resistance,?he said.

That possibility raised particular fears because the East Fork of the Bear River, which is normally ankle-deep, was swollen by heavy mountain snow melt.

However, Brennan had hiked some 600 feet higher and more than five miles into the mountains to the spot where searcher Forrest Nunley found him before noon Tuesday.

“I turned a corner and there was a kid standing in the middle of the trail. He was all muddy and wet,?said Nunley, who dialed 911 on his cell phone and said he was lucky to find a signal.

"I was amazed that he was alive," Nunley told the "Today" show, describing it as "an out-of-this-world experience."

Jury Delivers Verdict In Baby Dumping Trial

FORT WORTH, Texas - A Fort Worth jury Thursday reached a verdict in the attempted capital murder case of Dana Wilson. <IBS_IMG id=4645212 type="photo" hspace="10" src="/2005/0623/4645212_200X150.jpg" alt="Dana Wilson" align="left" vspace="5" height="150" width="200" border="0"></IBS_IMG>Jurors found Wilson guilty of trying to murder her newborn son by wrapping him in trash bags and dumping him in a trash bin, leaving him mentally challenged

The jury took about two hours to reach its decision.

Wilson, who is the daughter of a former Tarrant County judge, showed little emotion when she heard the verdict.

The penalty phase of the trial is now under way. Wilson faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.

Hurst detectives said the Texas Wesleyan University student delivered the baby alone at her home, put him in a trash bag and then threw him in a trash bin.

During the third day of the trial Wednesday, jurors heard from a friend of the accused woman and two psychiatrists who interviewed the suspect before the trial began.

Wilson's attorney said she was insane at the time of the incident, but a former classmate testified Tuesday that Wilson appeared normal on the day she abandoned the infant.

"She seemed pretty matter-of-fact about it. She said, you know, that she had given birth at home that morning, and then come to school," Amy Smith said. "And so I asked where the baby was and she said she had taken him to the hospital."

<IBS_IMG id=4640904 type="photo" hspace="10" src="/2005/0622/4640904_200X150.jpg" alt="" align="right" vspace="5" height="150" width="200" border="0"></IBS_IMG>Psychiatrists who testified during Wednesday's court proceedings said Wilson told them she did not want the baby and felt no attachment to the infant. She also said she had no remorse for the baby.

Attorneys asked the two psychiatrists if Wilson were insane the day she gave birth to and abandoned the baby. They also asked if Wilson intended to kill the infant by placing the baby in two plastic bags and leaving the child in a trash bin.

The psychiatrists, one called by the defense and the other called by the prosecution, offered differing views of Wilson's mental state and intentions.

"The severe mental illness with active psychotic features ? Dana did not know that what she was doing was wrong," Dr. Annette Shelton said.

"It's my feeling that she was not insane at the time of the offense," Dr. Mitchell Dunn said.

Wilson told psychiatrists that she left the baby in a trash bin because she saw a similar action played out in a movie.

Wilson's mother also took the stand and told jurors her daughter's learning disabilities have always caused problems.

"Dana is not mainstream. She's never been able to keep up. She's always been different and because she is different, she was not included," Delbra Wilson said.

The woman also testified that she did not know her daughter was pregnant, nor that she had dumped the baby, until four days after the incident.

A worker at a nearby veterinary clinic discovered the baby after hearing him whimper.

Doctors said the child will be mentally disabled for life because his brain was deprived of oxygen for a period after his birth.

"The (magnetic resonance imaging scan) showed multiple areas of the entire brain consistent with a lack of oxygen supply," said Dr. Terri Weinman, of Children's Medical Center.

Marriage was defined not by Webster, but by God as the union between a man and a woman for the purpose of procreation. Two men or two women can not NATURALLY procreate. It is physically impossible.
Canada has ruled in favor of a minority, and they are a minority. But Canada is not unique.
Take Madilyn Murray O'Hare in this country. One woman, what can she do? Well, sadly we found out.The majority of this and other countries are the "silent majority." Why? Because we've been told over and over again,to oppose brands us as racists, red necks, close minded hate mongers.
Fine, put it on my tomb stone, along with the American and Confederate flag.
God save this country , have pity on our souls.

Katrina came in with a force not seen in a while. Granted we're not BELOW sea level, but had Katrina hit Beaufort, we'd not be here.
I may be naive, but I'd like to believe that afterward the citizens would ban together for the cause of helping each other and our town begin to heal and rebuild our community. I am amazed, shocked and disappointed to read where New Orleans is being burned, looted and the rate of violent crimes are escalating.
The present administration is not responsible for this disaster. Agencies are doing what tey can to get aid to not only Louisiana, but Mississippi, and Alabama and parts of Florida.
But when you loot just to get DVD players, TV's ,etc., then looters should be shot.
Food, water , clothing, shelters, indeed help. Spend taxpayers money to rebuild what a few jerks have burned and looted after the fact, NO!!

I see that NBC pulled "Book of Daniel" after only 4 weeks. It's good to know that the viewing public still has the power to voice their opinion on what is and isn't acceptable viewing on prime time TV. Not to mention the millions of dollars they lost in advertisers pulling their ads.
Thank you America for standing up for what is clearly NOT what families across this great country will tolerate.

To bad it took them 4 weeks to figure this out and not see it before they ever aired an episode. Anyways thanks. I know I did all I could do here with the help of the AFA and I guess many others did too in there cities. Tis kool when an old fashion majority actually tells a few producers and writers that they suck ! LOL

While I'm here I thought I'd tell ya that little ol Dundee is getting a major indoor sports complex!!
It's a huge dome that looks like half a golfball and we are supposed to see our kids playing soccer in the fall of 2007 ..............if we can afford it that is. Thats the problem now. Our kids play for 30 bucks a season now and with a t-shirt they get to keep. This new place will charge around 175 bucks !!!The rich folks in the bigfoot homes that have invaded Dundee for the last 5 years want it so I guess we will have it. I am worried that we wont have enough kids to keep playing the 30 dollar field if half go to the complex. We will see what happens.

Gerald Ford dies at 93

Former president took over during depths of Watergate scandal

LOS ANGELES - Gerald R. Ford, who picked up the pieces of Richard Nixon’s scandal-shattered White House as the 38th president and the only one never elected to nationwide office, has died. He was 93.

“My family joins me in sharing the difficult news that Gerald Ford, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather has passed away at 93 years of age,?former first lady Betty Ford said in a brief statement issued from her husband’s office in Rancho Mirage. “His life was filled with love of God, his family and his country.?/P>

He died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at his home in Rancho Mirage, about 130 miles east of Los Angeles, his office said in a statement. No cause of death was released. Funeral arrangements were to be announced Wednesday.

He was the longest living president, followed by Ronald Reagan, who also died at 93.

“The American people will always admire Gerald Ford’s devotion to duty, his personal character and the honorable conduct of his administration,?President Bush said in a statement Tuesday night. “We mourn the loss of such a leader, and our 38th president will always have a special place in our nation’s memory.?/P>

Ford had been living at his desert home in Rancho Mirage, Calif., about 130 miles east of Los Angeles.

“I was deeply saddened this evening when I heard of Jerry Ford’s death,?former first lady Nancy Reagan said in a statement. “Ronnie and I always considered him a dear friend and close political ally.

“His accomplishments and devotion to our country are vast, and even long after he left the presidency he made it a point to speak out on issues important to us all,?she said.

An accidental president
Ford was an accidental president, Nixon’s hand-picked successor, a man of much political experience who had never run on a national ticket. He was as open and straightforward as Nixon was tightly controlled and conspiratorial.

Minutes after Nixon resigned in disgrace over the Watergate scandal and flew into exile, Ford took office and famously declared: “Our long national nightmare is over.?/P>

But he revived the Watergate debate a month later by granting Nixon a pardon for all crimes he committed as president. That single act, it was widely believed, cost Ford election to a term of his own in 1976, but it won praise in later years as a courageous act that allowed the nation to move on.

The Vietnam War ended in defeat for the U.S. during his presidency with the fall of Saigon in April 1975. In a speech as the end neared, Ford said: “Today, America can regain the sense of pride that existed before Vietnam. But it cannot be achieved by refighting a war that is finished as far as America is concerned.?Evoking Abraham Lincoln, he said it was time to “look forward to an agenda for the future, to unify, to bind up the nation’s wounds.?/P>

Ford was the first unelected vice president, chosen by Nixon to replace Spiro Agnew, who also was forced from office by scandal.

He was in the White House only 895 days, but changed it more than it changed him.

Even after two women tried separately to kill him, the presidency of Jerry Ford remained open and plain.

After the Watergate ordeal, Americans liked their new president ?and first lady Betty, whose candor charmed the country.

She remained one of the country’s most admired women even after the Fords left the White House when she was hospitalized in 1978 and said she had become addicted to drugs and alcohol she took for painful arthritis and a pinched nerve in her neck. Four years later she founded the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, a substance abuse facility next to Eisenhower Medical Center.
