Textured background We will be making the center background. The outside border was made following a tutorial at Creative Tutorials. This background was done using PSP9. You'll need Simple Quick Tile which you can download for free by clicking here. Let's get started. Open a transparent canvass 64x64 pixels. Be sure you have your ruler on. You'll need to zoom in about 400% to see better. Flood fill with a light color. I used #fbfbf9. Add a layer and flood fill with the same color. Go to Effects>>Texture Effects>> texture and choose Grain long deep. Choose the default settings. Lower the opacity on this layer to 50%. Add a new layer and pick a darker color for you dots. I used #98a7c4. Click on your paintbrush and set it to Size 2, Hardness 100, Step 25, Denisty 100, Opacity 100. Place a dot at the following coordinates. 32x28, 36x32, 32,36, 28x32. Lower this layer to 50%. Merge visible and apply simple Quick Tile. Save as a jpg. That's it. You can test it out by opening a large transparent canvass 400x400 pixels and flood filling with your tile.
