Hello Everyone,
I am very frustrated with the general public. I am 28 years of age and when I go into a public facility that I must walk for over 5 min or so, I have to ride a scooter because of the pain and lack of stamina. People look at me like I am a freak or something. Some people even come up and say rude coments to me... "you are too young to be in this." Well you are to old to be taught new tricks like manners... GGRRRR. People make me mad... or should I say IGNORANCE makes me furious. How can we educate people about this disease? This isn't our fault. We didn't ask to be inflicted with this. Would we like to have our lives back? NO QUESTION ABOUT IT!!!
I believe the national colors for RSD are purple for disability and gold for the RSD. If I am wrong, please someone let me know. Wearing these ribbons could be one of many ways we can educate the unknowing public. When someone ask what the ribbons represent, this opens a door for explaining this horriable disease. I haven't came up with any other educational oprotunities aside from the ribbons, but I would love to add education to those "rude" individuals out there...
