Dear Daggi,

My first bit of advice is?  Do you / or Did you have a laywer?
Secondly, was your case officially closed?
Third, Did you recieve a lump sum that include all of your medical be paid?

I am personally going thru this major process right now and I have been for 5 very long years.  I do have a bit of bad advise that state I live in PA, after 10 years that's it for worker's comp.  You get cut off.  My concern is what then.

Don't even think about trying to go after anyone because you got RSD cause I haven't beenable to find a laywer who would take that case.  Well, that's not true cause I did find one guy but he said he'd only take the case if I could get a doctor to say that I got RSD as a result of neglect and the one doctor I went to wouldn't do that.  Basically because it's workers comp.  and ya know what gets me you can't sue for pain a suffering....   Cause I'm sure as you know like I do there is nothing but pain and suffering when you have RSD... and it's not all physical there's lots of emotional suffering as well.

For me it kills me that when my kids get too close to me it hurts.  Most of the time it's accidental and then they get this look like oh no I hurt mommy... I hate that my kids are afraid to touch me.  Or that they get upset because they are apologizing for accidentally bumping into me.

If you want to talk feel free to email me at the above email address
Michelle

Hello Michelle, to answer your questions yes I do have a lawyer, my case just got close because all the doctors are saying that they can do nothing for me I can/will never return back to work, this is the reson why wc closed my case. No I never recieved a lum sum of money from WC, they paid me every other week . I live in NJ and my lawyer told me yesterday that he can do nothing with wc the only way would be if naother doctor would say that there is a chance fo rme to getbetter and go back to work one day, but this will never happen. All the stress is giving me more pain and discomford,I don't know what to do

Hey Daggi,

I don't understand that.  I live in Pa.  I guess the laws are different.   Did you max out your time on Worker's Comp?

Hey Michelle

honestly I don't understand either. I will talk coming Monday with another lawyer. Yesterday I was taking to a bankruptcy lawyer, he told me ; youneed to get ot the house there is no way that you will make it, He also said that SSd  will not be resolved soon and the law suit with the Army who knowa that what he said.I ask him where do I go, get another place to liveI am sorry yor can not make it. This lawayer is a friend of my lawyer who represent me in my case with the Army. He also want $500 to see him , I wish I had $500.  I am up since 4 this morning all the  burning in my left side and pain no way I could try to sleep longer. I will call later the Senator about my SSD and on Monday the other lawyer  who knows perhaps he can help with the WC and the case against the Army. How come is look like that people who has RSD are getting punished? Maybe we should write to Oprah, I don't know. I did called the Newspaper, there are not interested to write about RSD. I guess we are the forgotten victims this is so wrong

Daggi,
I do not understand how they can close your case if the doctor cannot do anything for you.  My understanding is that WC has to pay two thirds of your average weekly salary for all the time that you are disabled - i.e. until social security kicks in if you are permanently disabled.  But, if the law in NJ is different and you need a doctor to say you can get better, you can try my son's doctor.  We see her in Mahopac, NY but she also has a practice in Suffern, NY which is just North of NJ (on Rt 287).  She is making my son better.  She is actually a pediatrician who got into alternative medicine because her daughter has cerebral palsy.  She was told that in Italy they were getting good results using hyberbaric oxygen therapy and she tried in on her daughter and was very pleased.  Since then she has got more into alternative therapy and works with a nutritionist etc.  My son has pk injections with glutathione twice a week at her Mahopac location.  Of course, none of this is covered by WC but it does make him better - sometimes it immediatley reduces his pain.  A friend of my son is in treatment with a doctor in Boston who has got her to walk by doing hydrotherapy.  Also, she had an IV infusion of alpha-lipoic acid and her pain was dramatically reduced - before she could walk about 200 steps a day and afterwards 400.  In Holland they think RSD is caused by free radicals and injections or IV's of anti-oxidants seem to reduce the pain which supports their theory.  Something can be done about RSD - you just need to go to the right doctors and, unfortunately, need to be able to pay for alternative treatments that WC does not cover.  Today, I took my son to try a far infrared sauna which we have been told is very good for de-toxing the body.  I had some trouble finding somewhere to do it, but I located a place on the internet - a Japanese spa which gives facials and massages etc. in Manhattan.  Using the sauna cost $40 for 30 minutes so it was not prohibitively expensive.  The big question was whether he could tolerate it and so far everything has gone well.  He enjoyed being in there, he sweat a lot and has not had an increase in pain in his legs yet [sometimes treatments cause him pain hours later].  I am now trying to locate an infrared sauna in Westchester or elsewhere where the roads are better than in Manhattan because every pothole hurts him.  Also, last year we went to see the head of pain management at Beth Israel.  He wrote a report with many different treatments for our son to try.  Many different medications, spinal column stimulator, prolonged epidural infusion, IV lidocain, etc.  He is very well known and respected in the community and even the stupid IME neurologist who wrote that my son did not have RSD, was impressed that we had seen him.  ALSO, our appointment at Beth ISrael was paid for by WC.  If you would like to phone me for more information about the doctors who can make you better, and maybe will write a report for WC, please call me at 914-723-1099.  Linda.

Daggi,

did you try and sign up for social security?  Cause your not going toget any better and your not going to go back to work?  So, what are you supposed to do? I can't make any sense of this at all.

Michelle

Daggi,

I agree with you about us getting screwed by people cause I also have a bunch of crap going on with my case as well.  And, I get frustrated and do nothing but worry but.   I get told.  It's all a game and to not let it get to me... easier said then done right?

Michelle
