my dr, sent me to a pain management psychologist.  she ended up being a godsend.  she does all the biofeedback  etc. stuff too but she is also a good sounding board.  she administered all of the typical psych tests too.  she was instrumental in getting my ssd too.  depression strikes rsd patients and she helps with that.  hopefully you will have a good experience with your psych.
