Only I could feel you near<o:p></o:p>

I know you were there<o:p></o:p>

Of that I have no doubt<o:p></o:p>

You wrapped that blanket<o:p></o:p>

 Around me filling me with comfort<o:p></o:p>

Told me not to be afraid<o:p></o:p>

And strangely I wasn’t<o:p></o:p>

With you near I knew<o:p></o:p>

I would be safe<o:p></o:p>

I had no idea who you were<o:p></o:p>

Or why you had come<o:p></o:p>

I knew you would not hurt me<o:p></o:p>

You only come to comfort me<o:p></o:p>

To be with me for a little while<o:p></o:p>

You said I didn’t need to worry<o:p></o:p>

That you would always be around<o:p></o:p>

Should I have need of you<o:p></o:p>

All I’d have to do is all<o:p></o:p>

And you’d be there<o:p></o:p>

All to quick<o:p></o:p>

You were back the way you came<o:p></o:p>

I never saw you again<o:p></o:p>

That made me sad<o:p></o:p>

I knew not who you were<o:p></o:p>

And I wanted to say thanks<o:p></o:p>

I know who you are now<o:p></o:p>

Or at least I think I do<o:p></o:p>

You’re my guardian angel<o:p></o:p>

That who you must be<o:p></o:p>

No one saw you<o:p></o:p>

Or heard you talk with me<o:p></o:p>

Those many years ago<o:p></o:p>

But the blanket still remained<o:p></o:p>

So I know it was no dream<o:p></o:p>

I have no doubt<o:p></o:p>

You very, very real to me<o:p></o:p>

You’ve guarded me in many<o:p></o:p>

Way before and since<o:p></o:p>

For I should have not survived<o:p></o:p>

Certainly not without a scratch<o:p></o:p>

You must have done it<o:p></o:p>

I have not seen you since<o:p></o:p>

But I do not doubt<o:p></o:p>

That you guard<o:p></o:p>

And watch over me<o:p></o:p>

For I would not be here<o:p></o:p>

But it wasn’t for you appearing<o:p></o:p>

On the side of that road that day

No matter what anyone says

I know you were real

And I know you will
