Is there a chance that any of us here
haven't sat back and had a beer,
and pondered where we have been
and having been, did we knowingly sin?

If we did know and continued on anyway
surely we knew that we would have to pay.
Was the desire for the deed so powerfully strong
that we had to do this, even though it was wrong?

As that time of life approaches or is getting near,
we think more about what we should fear.
Will asking for forgiveness have an appeal
to those who were hurt, who did not yet heal?

Everyone, and I mean everyone has ghosts of the past
and the time will come when each will surely cast
there thoughts on the water for all to see,
that everyone suffers, not just you and me.

Now I've said it ..and I am glad
and this chair is hard and I need a pad,
but I'll set back and wipe my tear
and get in the cooler for another beer.

to be continued.....maybe

Well...I'm out of beer and there's nothing to cheer,
and it's the same old stuff, no diamond in the rough,
and my throat is parched and my tongue feels starched
I've tried and tried, but my brain is fried
to make something out of this diatribe.
But the brain won't work without a certain libation
and I'm doomed today without any creation.
So I'm off to the store to get some more
of that invaluable inspiration,
so that I might continue to bring about my cheer
as I sit back and chug a beer.

Nice poem with lots of pondering of things past, present and more to come.  I have never tasted beer...grew up around horses.  Saw them urinated, the foams of beers  remind me of those childhood days
