Spoke with Hilli on Friday 9/12, and she was preparing for Ike to hit their area. Bob had been in the Emergency Room at the hospital earlier in the week, so it was on Hilli to prepare. I have called her since and there has been no contact. From the news reports her area has gotten hit pretty hard by Ike. I have been trying to reach her by cell phone and no luck. I left a message and she said last Friday that she would contact me when it was over to let me know how they fared, but I have yet to hear from her. My thoughts and prayers are for their safety. |

Hallaleulah......... we have power after 13 days and are fine. Lots of downed trees in our area. Kingwood is called the "Livable Forest" for a reason!!!! Thousands of trees........... however, fewer than 2 weeks ago ........ Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers, we appreciate it. Bob has been diagnosed with arthritis in his shoulder and a pinched nerve or two in his left side, mainly in the arm and fingers. I keep telling him he is too ornery to be too sick....... Thanks again for all your concerns. We are doing fine. Hilli |

Hi Hilli! Very glad to hear that you're okay ... would take more than Hurricane Ike eh ? What a mess though! Aww poor Bob. Don't suppose he'd be thrilled with one of the old remedies .... thrash the affected part with stinging nettles! What about taking half a teaspoon of powdered ginger a day - research, according to my book of home remedies, shows that ginger root helps to relieve arthritis pain, probably because of its ability to increase blood circulations, thus ferrying inflammatory chemicals away from painful joints. Anyway ... glad to hear you've survived! sheepie x |
