Norwich Jugged Hare
Clean and joint a hare
Put into a large earthenware jar or casserole and put in water to come halfway up.
Add parsley, thyme and cloves.
Cover and simmer gently for as long as you like in the oven.
Add a little more water during cooking to keep it moist and add a wineglass of port just before the end of cooking.
Cook jacket potatoes in the same oven and serve with buttered mashed parsnips.
I can't vouch for this one as I would not eat it even if you tried to force-feed me - ugh
