just a few:  i will have more later on.  these are the newest pets (all rescues):

Sparky(II) he caught his leg band in a swing about a month ago; they found him trying to chew off his foot to escape.  his wings are clipped but luckily they did a bad job, so he can fly pretty well.  he was by himself for about a week before i put him in with the others.  he is doing really well now.  he can perch on regular perches (i had shelves for him at first), and his other leg and foot is stronger now to compensate for the missing foot.  all they did for him at the store was stop the blood.  when my mom found him he was in a cage by himself next to a cage with kittens.  he would have been used as a "feeder" (snake food); very few people will buy a bird with only one foot.  he was named after another bird we had years ago (i believe his picture is in my album)

Teddy - he was "rescued" from what would have been a bad situation.  a lady brought him in because she was worried her 5 year old twins would end up hurting him.  one of the other employees said to just "toss him in with the others", but my mom had other ideas!  the cage of hamsters he would have gone in ended up having mites, so if he had survived being attacked for being a newcomer, he would have been sick.  older hamsters are also harder to sell, so he may have ended up as a feeder eventually as well.  im still worried about him; he is having some problems adjusting and has a respiratory infection or a bad case of allergies, not sure yet.  he is very shy at first, but very sweet and friendly.  he nibbles if he thinks i have food, but does not bite otherwise.

Sampson - he is technically "mom's guinea pig"!  we did not need another, but those of you who are "animal people" can relate to that one   brought in because he was not wanted (he outgrew his cuteness to them i guess??), he is only a year and a half to 2 years old, very sweet, comes when called, etc.  it was fun trying to get this harness on him, lol.  he has a vitamin c deficiency (guinea pigs need vit c just like people), so his eyes are a bit runny at times.  other then that he is healthy.  i thought he was overweight, but hes not,  hes just a big guy.  he was put in with the other pigs at the store, they attacked him, so he was dumped in the "feeder bin".  he didnt move much and probably would not have lasted very long before starving (guinea pigs have to eat almost constantly or their liver and digestive system starts to shut down, it can take as few as 11 hours without food for this to start).  he is settling in well, and knows his name.  im trying to get him and my boys to get along well enough so he can play in the room with them.  all my males are housed in their own cages though.  i also have a new girl, not a rescue, named Angel, but dont have a pic of her yet.

more pics, updated actually; they were recently groomed

this is Lady (sheltie/australian shepherd mix):

(her tail is bluury because she was wagging it!  i was trying to get her to look happy, shes not always thrilled with getting her picture taken, probably because i usually try to get pictures of her and Sinbad sitting together, and it takes a while to get them both still, especially him!)  she weighs about 40 pounds, and looks like a miniature tri-color collie.  she was only supposed to weigh about 20 pounds, lol!

and Sinbad (poodle/dachshund mix):

he definitely looks "dachshund" in the face; he inherited the poodle fur (although its a bit wiry, so maybe his mom was a wirehaired dachshund?), with the dachshund body and head and ears (i wouldnt let the groomer take any fur off his ears!).  he got some height from the poodle, luckily.  not sure where the tail came from, its curly.  probably poodle, just that most poodles have their tails docked short.  i recently found a pic of another mix like him (from a rescue who was up for adoption), same color, but the other dog definitely had more "poodle" in him.  Sinbad weighed 18 pounds last summer; he was a bit overweight.  im thinking he weighs maybe 15 now?  hes a stocky little dog, but short.

this is my new girl, Angel, not the best pics but i should have better ones in a few weeks.  i dont know how old she is, maybe 3 to 4 months?  shes quite a sweetie but a bit fiesty!

these are all her, she has some really unusual markings.  her fur is abyssinian, but really long in the back, so it "spikes" up a bit.

Taz and Chantilly; Taz has been gone since July 18 2003, and Chantilly since June 29 2004.  i miss them both.  Chantilly was pregnant when i got her, Taz was her only daughter,; Spooky and Harley are her sons.  they were born February 23 2002.  Taz was an abysinnian; Chantilly was an abysinian/peruvian mix i think?  her fur was medium length but had the "swirls".

Spooky - hes an abysinnian, i love his markings and have never seen any other pig quite like him, although i imagine his markings may be fairly common.  he was named after my very first pig who we rescued years ago from a local shelter, but personality wise he is very sweet.

Harley - i believe he is a dalmation, though with his long hair he looks more striped then spotted.  when he was born he looked like a little sheep with his face, and he had little black spots.  i thought he was a girl so named him Holly, lol.  he is also very sweet.  he could probably pass for a purebred peruvian?  this pic was taken when he was about a year old, his fur has grown quite a bit since then.
