Red is a stimulating color. Strong and almost defiant ( in a way). It most definately is a color that stands out and is remembered. What does red call to mind when you think about it? A fire truck? A ball? Anger? A rose? Fear? A  lipstick kiss? A bloodied weapon? Love?     Here are some of the things that red is used for ( assoicated with) :   Health Passion Love Strength Courage Fertility Will power Sexuality Physical Vigor Energy Protection Stamina Enthusiasm Strong emotions Fire Red is also associated with blood ( go figure) and so also reminds us of both life and death ( aww withouth the sweet red river from which we are, where would life begin to be?). Red is also associated as the color of the root chakra which deals with our primal selves and where we belong in life. Red Red everywhere but which hue is what? Lighter reds ( and no I don't mean Pink here people) is associated with deep affection but not of the sexual or intimate type while a deeper more "Sexier" red such as Cranberry is associated with Passion and sexuality. Ruby reds ( deep, dark, yet scintillatingly bright) bring to mind strong emotions related to passion or anger ( so if you have an anger management problem you may want to steer from this range). So how can you use red for you? Well if you are already energetic or have strong emotions then this color may not be what you need. If you are looking to boost your health or vigor or are feeling unsure of yourself then some red in your day may help. You can dress yourself in some firey colors ( there is such a thing as too much of a good thing so remember that a little can go a long ways). You can try a breathing technique ( explained in the color breathing post). You can sit in front of or near a red light for awhile ( easy enough done. Check out the post called "Bathing in Colored Light" ). You can carry a gemstone of said color on your person. You can meditate or just focus on a red candle for a while too, soaking up what the color has to offer you. These are just a few suggestions. I am sure you will find more throughout this Board.
