One thing that I have found handy whenever I start a new endeavor is to keep a journal about it.
If you decide to start incorporating color in a conscious way into your life, you may find it helpful to jot down which colors, exercises, and methods you used in which situations.
You can start it off with which colors you are naturally drawn to and see what those have to offer. You can also jot down which colors repel you and look into why that may be so.
Take me for example. I love Purples and Blues. If we look over at Purple or Blue you will see those are calming colors ( and boy do they ever make me feel calm......I started drifting off a bit when I was putting up the Blue page). Orange though just makes me feel jittery and Red can be a bit much for me. So what does that say about me?
If you guessed that I am an energetic person who needs to sit down and relax for a few then you were right. Orange is waaaaaaay too stimulating for me. I don't NEED any extra energy! Blue on the other hand I could just bask in for hours ( though I doubt I would get much done lol!).
Keep a log of which colors you decided to work with and why. Then record the outcome. In time you can look back over your records and see what works for you.
