Can color be used to help you lose weight?
I am not going to guarantee anything here. I will however give you some information and let you do what you will with it.
Cool colors ( such as blues, greens, and purples) tend to slow you down and relax you. So if you feel you tend to eat quickly and not allow yourself to "feel full" before going onto plate number two then try serving your food on dishware in the cool spectrrum.
Are you having a problem eating that healthy salad? You KNOW its good for you but it looks so......blah.....
Try adding something with color to it ( just a bit) like a couple slivers of yellow or red bell peppers in it to help "pop" it out ( and if you hate peppers you don't have to eat them....think of them as a type of garnish like parsley).
As for exercising ( as that is always part of a good regiment......cutting out the calories is only half the battle) try and make your exercise area a lil more "upbeat" with some warm colors. You don't have to go overboard with it ( like a complete red room or anything). Perhaps get yourself an orange mat, spruce your TV up ( if you watch work out vids) with some yellow or other warm flowers ( fake ones are find too and you don't have to turn your TV center into a jungle).
Now what about weight gain?
If your problem with weight gain is due to your appetite ( bad signals to the tummy) then try making meal time fun with some jazzy dishes ( stimulating colors). You may find yourself actually hungry or even wanting a second helping!
If you have a lot of excess energy ( nervous energy) or a high metabolism try exposing yourself to blue ( or other cool colors) for awhile after a meal. Maybe a blue blanket on your lap as you read, or some blues on your TV center as you watch your favorite program.
These are all just suggestions on how to work with colors and color therapy.
