"If we fight a war and win it, what history will remember is not the ideals we were fighting for but the methods we used to accomplish them."

So here we are, on the brink of a war that is going to consist of quite a number of men and women. These men and women will go to war to stake claim on several different prizes throughout the night. The night, January Eleventh in the Two Thousand Ninth year, will be a night that a war occurs, a war that they are terming simply as, "Civil War."

Now as the great quote above states, if one is to fight a war and win it, history remembers not the ideas they were fighting for. It is not really about the prizes that the people will be fighting for, but it is about what methods they are going to use. Hitting a bit closer to home, battle lines were already being drawn. Drew Stevenson would be the first man in the war to stake his claim on how he believes things are going to go. His first method of offense would be going the respectful approach. He gave respect where he saw that it was due and would leave it all that. He wants to leave it on the line come that eleventh day of January and let the best man or woman win. Now truthfully, there is nothing wrong with the respectful approach. However, it can be used as a method to deter an opponent from the actual task at hand, and some people are smart enough to pick up on that, but that will be touched on later.

x~. Sunday, January 11, 2009 - Anaheim, California

We start things off in the extremely lavish pad of a recently signed WGEF superstar. She arises from her bed and heads downstairs to fix her a cup of coffee. She wanted to make sure she was alert for the day and that would be the perfect way to start it off. While he coffee brewed up in its pot, she rested on the kitchen table looking down at her finger. She had recently gotten proposed to and the diamond on that hand of hers brightened up her morning every time she saw it. She was in her own little world until she heard her boyfriend, now fiancé, coming down the steps. He approached her eventually wrapping his arms around her from behind. She smiled as he kissed her cheek looking ahead seeing that she had coffee going. On his way over to her, he noticed that she had been into her own thoughts and he was curious as to what about.

Dimitri Babe?

Phoenix Hmm?

Dimitri What are you thinking about so hard?

Phoenix You know how I was telling you I signed a contract with another company recently?

Dimitri Yeah?

Phoenix Well that deal did not exactly fall through as planned.

Of course he was not excited. He loved for her to wrestle just as much as she had the desire to wrestle. However, he could not help but be a bit pleased by the news considering some of the extra details she included when she revealed that she would soon be returning to the ring. It would be something along the lines of signing a contract that had within the print that she would be competing in some Hell on Earth match against some supposed psychotic man. Although he had witnessed her in action in some pretty brutal and bloody matches before, he could not lie like he liked it. Sure, the entertainment was there, but knowing her on the personal level that he did, it affected him as well.

Dimitri Well that means no whatever kind of match you were telling me about right?

Phoenix Depends...

He sighed.

Dimitri On..?

Phoenix Well that brings in the next part of the story. Well you know this MSN era is coming to an end anyway?

He nodded.

Phoenix Well I pretty much figured this company would not be able to pick up the pieces and that I would eventually have to seek out another company anyway. Soooo, I did.

Dimitri No crazy matches in the contract through right?

Phoenix Not this time. Does not quite stop it from happening though.

Dimtri Well I will work with what we got so far....

x~. Later That Day

So the day went on by and Phoenix's soon to be husband was perfectly fine with her signing with another company. They had gone over where she was and all that and she had discussed with him that no plans had been made yet. She had done some reviews of the place after signing her contract and she knew she had to work her way up to anything serious, a title shot for example. She was perfectly fine with that. She had never been handed anything and she was not looking to be handed anything now. As she was having her dinner, she got a call.

Phoenix Yes?

And so she was told about the match that she was going to have and she was pretty excited. She had not been in action in a few months so it felt great to have a match. Not only that, the match would be taking place at a pay per view. She was told that she, Drew Stevenson, and Michael James would be opening up the show. That meant she had a lot to prove opening up possibly the last pay per view WGEF would have on the MSN circuit. She was more than ready to deliver on that responsibility, that was for sure. After she hung up from WGEF management, she was estatic about telling her fiancé the news.

Phoenix Hey! Guess what.

Dimitri What?

Phoenix It looks like I will be having a match afterall.

Dimitri Oh? Against who?

Phoenix Two guys...one I am pretty familiar with, Drew Stevenson, and one I have no clue about, Michael James.

Dimitri Sounds interesting, every man..and woman, for themselves?

Phoenix But of course.

Dimitri When is it?

Phoenix One week from tonight exactly. I will be opening up the show at my very first pay per view. Ratings are going to shoot through the roof off of the first match alone. When those people get word that I am making my debut, the websites will be buzzing.

Strange how he does not mind her facing men at all, of course unless it is in some bizarre match type. Otherwise, he is perfectly comfortable with it. Having been with her eight months, he had witnessed her take on some of the toughest men the sport has to offer. Then with living with her, he got a glimpse of several of her former matches where she mostly took on men anyway. So he was not in the least bit worried. Plus with her saying that she was familiar with Drew, he knew that she knew exactly how to prepare for him. Of course it was the same for Michael as well. It would not be the first man, or woman for that matter, that she faced that she had no recollection of.

Dimitri Well I know I got front row tickets to that.

Phoenix Well I will see what I can do. I am still the new kid on the block for right now so I have to get around to doing whatever I want. If all fails, you can definitely pay for it.

Dimitri Yes, now we can drink to you getting you first match in this WGEF place.

She nodded at that as they clinged their two champagne glasses together. Irrelevant to the matter at hand, Phoenix was now quite wealthy. She had been wrestling a few years now and after acquiring so many titles and accolades, her bank account was nothing short of exuberant. Then her fiancé was quite the man himself being a District Attorney in the city they were residing in. Life was only about to get even better for the two of them.

x~. Monday, January 12, 2009 - WGEF.com Exclusive

So the stage was set, Phoenix would be taking apart of this big Civil War pay per view that WGEF was hosting this upcoming Sunday. She was actually pretty shocked to be having her debut match at the pay per view, but she figured it was the perfect way to be introduced to the wonderful world of WGEF. It made it even better that she would be taking on two men, one of which she was pretty sure was well known around htis company as well as others. During her phone call with WGEF management, she was asked if she wanted to partake in an interview for the company's website. She was happy to oblige with that request.

WGEF.com First of all, welcome to the WGEF.

Phoenix Thank you.

WGEF.com What made you come to WGEF to begin with and how do you feel now that you are here?

Phoenix I actually had a cousin of mine that was here temporarily and she suggested that I check things out. I did a bit of scouting while she was here and saw a lot of potential in the place. It definitely looked like somewhere fitting for me to find a bit of competition and only get better. As far as how I feel about being here, I am very excited about the opportunity. As I said, it looks like somewhere I can find some pretty stiff competition and somewhere to really hone my skills a bit. There are like a very limited numbers of companies I even deem worthy of signing me now because it would really be a waste of my time. They would either go under really fast or they just happen to not be what I am looking for. WGEF has been around for a while so I figure to myself that they must be doing something right here. I believe that I can help take this company into some new directions.

WGEF.com Well you certainly have a big chance coming up this Sunday at Civil War, how do you feel about that?

Phoenix I am ready. That much is for sure. You will hear me say that a lot of times when someone asks how I feel about matches. When I say that I am ready, I am truly ready. I have been out of the ring about five months now. Actually, tomorrow would make exactly five months that I have been out of the ring.

WGEF.com Well as you mentioned, there is some pretty intense competition here in WGEF in both divisions, so do you believe that five month hiatus will have any effect on your performance Sunday?

Phoenix Actually, no. See, a lot of people actually do not know me. I actually feel pretty out of place being the newcomer and all. That is very uncommon for me. I am usually the most well known person in a company, but I just have to build myself back up to that. I definitely have what it takes to do it, so that does not worry me in the least bit. It just makes things a bit easier when people surely know who you are and know what you can do.

WGEF.com How so?

Phoenix Well when you are new, you have so much to explain about. You have to explain basically everything. You have to tell people where you are from and what you have done. Then the bad side of that is people usually do not want to hear it, not that you can really blame them. All new people come in and have defeated over half of the world. What they do not tell you is that the people they have defeated could not wrestle themselves into a paper bag, let alone out of one. And the little championships they claim to own, pfft, you find more work purchasing one of those at one of the stands in the arena that they sell during the show. But either way, you have to let people know who you are, whether they want to hear about it or not.

At this point, the reporter would read over some papers he had in his hands. He had taken some notes from Drew Stevenson's promotional he did for the match.

WGEF.com Well it would seem that after watching what Drew had to say, you do not have much explaining to do to him.

Phoenix laughed a bit.

Phoenix You know what...I was actually a bit shocked to see that he knew who I was. But at the same time, it is good that he pays attention like he does. I have been in numerous of companies with Drew. One thing I can say about him is that he is very observative just like myself. It is pretty good to pay attention to the people around you because you really never know who you might be facing in the ring one day. There are actually quite a few people here that I have been in companies with. It would actually be pretty bad on them if they did not know me, because the fact of the matter is, I have been a champion everywhere I have been. There has only been like one company that I held only one title during my time there. So I like to think that I am pretty good.

Phoenix grinned to herself.

Phoenix But yes, point is, just like Drew knows of me, I know of him as well. I even know a few things about him that he probably did not know I knew. But of course that is neither here or there in this matter. In the end, he is my opponent this Sunday and that is all. Now I noticed he wanted to be a nice guy in his little message about me and I can actually respect that.

Phoenix shrugged a little gritting her teeth together.

Phoenix The problem with that is, I am not really the nice type. What can I say? It is just me. I did not actually come here to make friends and buddies and travel pals and all of that. I did not come here to pay respect where it might be due or any of that mushy stuff. No, we can save all of that for the home video cutscenes or the special wrestling documentaries or something. But when it comes to preparing for matches and definitely in matches, I am nothing nice. So while it probably would be fitting and probably proper to return the favor by adding in a few nice compliments, I am going to have to come up short on that one. However, I will let Drew know that he was exactly right with pretty much everything he said. That is about all the credit I can give him. I am sure Drew can live with me not being nice to hi. After all, he does realize that I am a pretty feisty little number so he would not be expecting any candy and roses in the mail any time soon. Now it just sucks that he is supposed to undefeated, or so he says, because that has to end Sunday. There can only be one winner, and unfortunately dear Drew, it cannot be you. But hey, all good things must come to an end someday right? You just keep telling yourself that and it will make Sunday night a whole lot easier for you, I promise.

Phoenix winked.

WGEF.com So you are saying that you will pick up your first victory over not only Drew, but Michael James as well, whom of which is also in this match with you two?

Phoenix nodded.

Phoenix That is correct.

WGEF.com Two men?

Phoenix Sounds impossible right?

WGEF.com Wweeellll........

Phoenix You can say yes...I will not kill you...this time. WGEF has not been properly introduced to Phoenix yet. After they are properly introduced, we would not even have to be going through this conversation anymore.

WGEF.com Well yes then, it seems pretty impossible. You are just....

Phoenix What...a woman? Am I right?

WGEF.com I take it you have heard these things before?

Phoenix But of course. I love hearing them. I love the doubt, the unsureness. It gives me some kind of fuel that just drives me to prove people wrong. That is about the only perk to being a newcomer. You are going to have many doubters. Many people around the place are going to feel like you cannot make it to where they are. And then with me being a woman as you were implying, that adds to the doubt. But I have proved many people wrong in my day and I look forward to proving a few more wrong this Sunday. You know I really hate to leave Michael out of the conversation, but I cannot really help but to. I do not know him, never heard of him, but do not count that as underestimation. I am sure he is more than capable of bringing the fight, although I must warn him that the results will end up the same for him as well. Since he supposedly lost to Drew already, this should not come as much of a surprise to him.

Phoenix shrugged.

Phoenix Just saying...

WGEF.com And you really believe this will be a win for you after five months of absence from the ring against two guys who have been wrestling these five months that you have been gone?

Phoenix nodded again.

Phoenix That is right. See, no matter what you do, you always have to be at least one step ahead. I try to stay two, but at least one is necessary. The mistake would be believing that just because I have not been in the ring for five months means that I am not fully prepared to take on this match. Just remember that things are not always what they appear to be and that just might take you a long way.

WGEF.com Well hey, we here at WGEF.com wish you the best of luck with that. I will be sure to watch that match to see if you prove your doubters wrong.

The guy got up and Phoenix followed. She shook his hand and left the studio. Now was time to go get some other things together to make sure she was properly prepared for the match Sunday. She expected to be hearing from Michael James soon and then she could truly weigh in what she was dealing with for this Sunday. Things were surely about to get interesting.

OOC Statement: Well there is my first Civil War r/p....not the best in my opinion but I suppose it's decent...not sure if I will be getting up five...I'm sure my r/ps would've become drastically unreadable by that fifth one...so I'm looking to do about three or four, especially since school picks back up this week. Anyway, enjoy reading.
