WGEF Civil War is live from the Toyko Dome in Toyko, Japan tonight. Phoenix Winterborn and Mari Saito take on some would say the most dominant couple in WGEF today, Deacon Havok and Trish Stratus. Deacon has already called out Phoenix to end this feud once and for all. Name-calling has been in effect all week. Insults, put-downs...you name it, it's been done. It was obvious that Deacon Havok and Trish Stratus were ready for battle, but how about the new couple in Phoenix and Mari Saito? Would they be able to shine when it mattered most? Could their relationship survive the brutal match that is about to take place within the confines of Hell in A Cell? Phoenix knew he was always ready for a good fight, and something told him that he could count on Mari to help him out to get the job done. The two had a bond with with other rarely seen in relationships today. Sure, Deacon and Trish could make out on-screen all they wanted to, but Phoenix and Mari knew that that couldn't be the basis of a relationship. What it came down to was simply getting into that ring, and making magic happen between the bells. Our scene opens up this evening inside the Toyko Dome, home of WGEF Civil War. People wanted to see the TLC match between Dylan James and Chris McKenzie, but the real main event on the card was Phoenix Winterborn teaming with his girlfriend, "The Japanese Jewel" Mari Saito to face off against Deacon Havok and his wife, Trish Stratus. It's going to be a war that no one will ever forget. Our scene opens up today with Phoenix Winterborn standing in front of the Toyko Dome, the site of tonight's WGEF Civil War pay-per-view. The weather was a chilly 46 degrees, so Phoenix obviously wasn't in his normal gear. Instead, his zippered Volcom hoodie was zipped all the way up, and his Avirex jeans were belted tight with a Dodge Viper seatbelt. He looks around and begins talking as the wind picks up slightly. "The American Tradition" Phoenix Winterborn: Deacon Havok, you really like to run your mouth. You have about a big a mouth as your wife, but her's is bigger for a different reason which we won't get into right now. Anyways, I saw that promo you did with the military theme, and let me tell you something. It damn near made me sick. How dare you make a mockery of the military. I have family in there, and to make someone sit and watch your promo just makes me want to destroy you even more. This is not a movie, Deacon. This is real god-damned life. No one is going to lay down for you this time. Me least of all. This match here is going to be a turning point for this company. The mighty will fall. The American Tradition and The Japanese Jewel are going to be closing out 2008 and entering 2009 as the new power couple in the WGEF. Phoenix pauses for a moment, deep in thought. Turning his back to the camera, he starts to walk inside while he resumes talking. "The American Tradition" Phoenix Winterborn: While I'm thinking about it, let me address this new guy. Locke, is it? Well, Locke, let me explain something to you. Phoenix Winterborn is not someone to mess around with. I'm going to give you one fair warning, because frankly I don't even know you or what you have against me. If you show up at Civil War and try to take me out before my Hell in A Cell match, I promise you. Not only are you going to regret it, I will end your fucking career before you even get started. Fair warning, Locke. Heed it if you value your career. As Phoenix opens the door to the Toyko Dome, he pulls his hood down, exposing his short blonde hair and his matching goatee. "The American Tradition" Phoenix Winterborn: Back to the task at hand...Deacon and Trish. Deacon, I love how you keep claiming that I am going to fall to you after this match. You claim that I will never be in your leauge even though every time I step into that ring with you, I push you to the limit and then some. I offer you the biggest challenge to your carrer, and your cowardly ass doesn't want to admit it to anybody because you want that air of confidence about you at all times. All Trish is realy good for nowadays is boosting your ego, and making you feel special. It still makes me somewhat nauesous to know that another muscle-bound idiot like yourself walks in here, scares people into laying down for them, and get pushed to the upper elechon of this company. You worry about me when no one is looking because I never back down from a challenge, nor do I ever back out of a challenge that I issue. And it creeps the hell out of you. I think you have a taken a few too many shots to the head..either that, or your "neck injury" is causing you to have some weird spasms that make you think things that aren't true. You honestly sit there and convince yourself that this is going to be an easy match when that just isn't the case. Tonight is the night the Phoenix flies high. Phoenix Winterborn is going to be the face of the WGEF in 2009. Trish Stratus will lose her Intercontinental Championship, and Deacon Havok will fade into obscurity. Myself and Mari Saito will be the new power couple in the WGEF. You might as well get used to it now. Phoenix looks back at the camera, smiling as he walks into his locker room where Mari Saito is waiting for him. She looks up as she hears the door open, and runs over, jumping onto him to hug him. He smiles and kisses her forehead as they go to sit down where on the TV, they are running over the card tonight. Phoenix lays back on their leather couch as Mari lays down, resting her head on his chest. As the preview for their match appears, she looks up at him with a somewhat concerned look on her face. Mari Saito: Phoenix, you know I'm behind you one hundred percent, but you know I've never been in one of these before...I mean, I know we'll be ok, but I've seen what Hell in A Cell does to people. It changes them, and I'm not ready to change anytime soon. Besides, Trish and Deacon did have a point. They're married, and they work well together... Phoenix raises a finger to her lips slowly. Phoenix Winterborn: Hun, don't you worry about a thing. I know it looks menacing, but once you get inside and the bell rings, adrenline takes over, and you're only able to focus on whoever is on the other side of the ring. Trust me, it'll all end up ok. We're going to do in there tonight, win, and get back on track towards our respective championships. You trust me, don't you? Trish and Deacon aren't as all-powerful as they say they are. Even married couples have fights and disagreements from time to time, and that is when we'll take the advantage. Besides, the only way a match can change a person is if they let the match change them. You stay true to yourself, and after we take out the tradh tonight, we're going to celebrate. I really liked that club we went to last night, and tonight..the drinks are on me, ok? Mari nods her head and smiles as she lays back down on Phoenix's chest. The scene fades out slowly, focusing on Phoenix and Mari watching the opening match of the night...
