x~. Friday, January 16, 2009

Wow, what an experience this is soon about to be for many people. WGEF comes to you live on pay per view from the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. That was one thing that made WGEF stand out a lot above the rest. They made major moves that other companies could only dream of making. For the ones that could make the moves, they easily found a way to ruin that completely. But WGEF was taking its showcase of superstars across seas to fight in front of thousands of Japanese fans. Most companies that traveled overseas would only go to the likes of United Kingdom, England, perhaps your Austrailia here and there. You did not hear much about companies going to Japan too much. So yes, this was going to be one hell of an experience on many different levels. Japanese fans were pretty different as well. They were used to seeing some pretty intense competition where quite a bit of pain was necessary. They truly found pleasure in pain and it was an ultimate form of entertainment for them. It meant that a lot of people were going to have to step up their game. For someone like Phoenix, she knew she would have to step her game up for this trip. She and Drew were in a Triple Threat match, or at least it was supposed to be anyway. It was barely two days left before the event and still no sign or trace of their third participant in the match, Michael James. So it was really looking like it was going to be left up to only Phoenix and Drew Stevenson to bring in this Civil War event. Either way, the level was about to have to be raised a few notches. As stated earlier, the Japanese crowd loved to see pain. Every time you hear of wrestling in Japan, it was always enormous amounts of blood due to the fact that they love to host matches such as the infamous barbed wire match. Then again, there are those barbed wire explosives match. It was several deadly stipulations that these people were used to watching on a regular basis, and with WGEF being an entirely different organization than what is hosted in Japan, it would have to be ready to give them something to talk about. It was only quite natural that Phoenix and Drew would have to bring their best opening up a pay per view anyway. Then with it only being a regular style match, they would have to rely on the best of their wrestling abilities to put on the best singles match imaginable, that is, unless Michael James did show up. In that case, those three were going to have to have those people sliding their Japanese asses to the edge of their seats. Phoenix was definitely ready for that task at hand, only mattered if Drew could elevate his game to that level.

x~. In The Home Of Phoenix - Anaheim, California

We start the day off in the home belonging to the one and only Phoenix. She was getting her things packed pretty early that Friday morning considering it was about to be a long trip over to Japan. It was not your normal two hour flight over to the next city. Oh no, this was going to be a hell of a lot of hours, eleven to twelve to be exact. So basically, that was a half of the day, and depending on what time she left, it would probably be dark when she got there. But then again, it probably would not be since they were so many hours ahead. Where she stayed in California, they were the last people to see the sun. In Japan, they were the first. So while the sun was going down in California, it would most likely just be rising again in Japan when she got there. She felt like a little kid almost while she was packing her things.

Phoenix D-BEAR!?

Phoenix turned her head slightly to hopefully throw her voice a bit further than it would have gone with her head still bent down trying to focus on what she was loading into her bags. Her husband-to-be came running in the room thinking something was wrong. She turned a bit more to see him standing just by the doorway of their bedroom with a toothbrush still in his mouth.

Phoenix Hhheeeyyy, where are you going...work?

Dimitri Yeah, got a busy next few days. Is it time for you to leave already?

He would ask her this just about every time he saw her packing to fly off. This time though, he actually did not know where she was going.

Phoenix Yes, leaving for Japan in a few hours so I can get there about when the sun is rising. I got a somewhat busy day.

Dimitri Japan? As in far far away Japan?

Phoenix laughed a bit and nodded.

Phoenix Yeah, as in far far away Japan.

Dimitri Wow.

Phoenix I know, that is the same expression I had. I all excited and nervous at the same time.

Dimitri Surely you do not think whoever you said you are facing is going to beat you.

Phoenix Oh no, it is not that at all. This is like a first time thing for me. Do you know I have actually never been overseas to wrestle?

Dimitri No?

Phoenix Nope. The companies I had always booked shows in the States. Then on some of those little down periods in my career, I never bothered to get involved over there. I saw no purpose for it truthfully. See, me going to Japan and wrestling over there would only be because I saw others do it, and there is no sense in that. I figure it is best to stick to what you know and be the damn best at that.

Dimitri Definitely sounds like a plan.

Phoenix I have no clue how I am going to communicate with these people.

Dimitri You never learned Japanese?

Phoenix Hell no! Their writing looks like a bunch of little stick houses that they think people should put together to communicate. Look, I drew houses like that back in school, never was I trying to write in Japanese. Then their speaking, that is a whole different level of hell no.

Dimitri I could get you a translator.

Phoenix Yeah, that would be nice.

So Dimitri went back to getting ready for work and he quickly got his connections together on the phone to arrange for her to have a translator. In the field he was in, he would come across people that spoke different languages a lot of times. Then being in the California area, there were plenty of Hispanics, so he definitely needed one. This particular guy knew pretty much all of the major languages and could speak them fluently.

x~. John Wayne Airport - 9:00 A.M.

Phoenix arrived to the airport where she kept her private jet stored for her own personal use. Yes, she had accumulated quite enough money over the years to have quite a lavish and luxurious lifestyle. She did not live that life to the fullest, but that only meant that when she wanted to splurge, it was even easier. She had driven herself in her 2009 Chevrolet Camaro. It was a pretty fast car, nothing too fancy. She liked fast cars. She was not your limousine type person too much unless it was just absolutely necessary for her to be in one. She loaded onto the plane and was almost knocked off of her feet when she realized who was on the plane waiting for her, aside from the translator that she was going to need.

Dimitri Hello dear.

Her mouth just hit the floor.

Dimitri I figured I would surprise you and take a little trip with you to Japan. I took a few personal days off after that little incident from the other day. Boss was going to be all over my ass anyway, so it was probably perfect timing.

Phoenix When did you pack and all?

She got in her seat beside him and they were headed off.

Dimitri Oh I took care of all of that like at the beginning of this week. I knew you said you had a match and I knew it was not in our hometown. So I just packed a bag because I knew I was going to be taking these personal days off to go with you. Double the bonus that we are going to Japan I suppose.

She was sure happy he would be going with her. It just gave her a bit more motivation for when she did get in the ring with Drew and Michael. She looked back at the little translator guy and he looked mighty familiar.

Phoenix Um, is his name TJ?

Dimitri Yeah, how did you know?

Phoenix I think he used to work for....a friend.

Dimitri You sure?

Phoenix Almost one hundred percent sure. Same little man that looks like the one that followed Khali around. Makes you wonder how he got the named TJ too.

Dimitri Yeah he came into our office looking for work as a translator. Seems he had a bit of a problem with his last employer abusing him. He also said he got tired of speaking "jive" or something like that.

Phoenix just laughed to herself. She knew exactly what he was referring to. It would have been much better had Dimitri known what Phoenix knew. Her cousin's boyfriend was actually this guy's former employer and he used to always get slapped and put in submissions for popping up at the wrong times. And his former employer had quite a bit of slang in his vocabulary, but TJ actually was quite fluent with that form of language as well. Pretty talented right? Just had to see how he handled these Japanese people.

x~. Land Of The Rising Sun - 12:00 P.M.

Phoenix had slept a good bit of the way to Japan since it was so long. She had to knock a few of the hours out with sleeping. The others, well her and Dimitri handled those in their own special little way. Now she had showered up and she was ready to begin her first day in the Land of the Rising Sun. Now she was fifteen hours ahead of the normal time that she was used to. Lucky for her that she slept some so that her time would not be too thrown off. As she walked down the steps and into the Tokyo Airport, it was several people there. This actually caught her by surprise because the thought of a raid at the very first moment you stop into Tokyo had not crossed her mind. She stepped right into a cloud of people as if they had just overtaken her suddenly. She turned to see if she could see Dimitri. She barely saw his head somewhere behind her. Of course with TJ being a smaller man, he was having an extremely hard time getting through.

Dimitri I THINK THEY LIKE YOU!

Phoenix just shook her head laughing. It was ridiculous, but in a good way.

Phoenix WHAT MAKES YOU SAY THAT?

It took them quite a while to get through the crowd. Of course, she would not make it through without signing quite a number of autographs in the process. The whole thing was mind boggling to her because she did not know she was so loved by these people. She did not even know they were aware when she would be there or anything. Several superstars had been arriving around the same times so they must had been waiting to see who they saw next. Guess they got a glimpse of the card and were just welcoming her into Tokyo in their own little way.

Some time had passed and Phoenix finally arrived to where she would be staying during her time in Tokyo. Of course, she had the hardest time trying to figure out what the hell was going on everywhere she went. It would begin with the hotel clerk.

Hotel Clerk
・ス・・・ウ・オ・・ー・ワ・オ・・・、・ゥ

Phoenix just looked at him for a minute. She then looked at Dimitri.

Phoenix I do not believe I know what he said.

Dimitri Only foreign language I speak is Spanish.

Phoenix Yeah, that is what I am saying. We do not need to know Japanese in the States.

The clerk obviously was tired of waiting and he could see they were having a discussion amongst themselves.

Hotel Clerk
・ス・・・ウ・オ・・ー・ワ・オ・・・、・ゥ

Phoenix could hear in his voice that he was getting agitated, although she still did not know what he was saying. He had asked her twice if he could help her. She held her hand up. She could only hope he knew sign language. "Stop" had to be a universal sign.

Phoenix Hold on there a minute. Um......how about this..........Pokemon!

Phoenix elbowed Dimitri.

Phoenix Heh, guess I told him.

Hotel Clerk
・・・ス・ソ・ヘ・|・P・・・・・・・・・ス・ネ・「・ナ・A・ス・セ・・・ョ・・・・・チ・ト・「・ワ・キ・B

Phoenix just looked at him with a blank look on her face. TJ came up and he proceeded to handling the business from there. Phoenix had the same problems when they went to eat and everywhere else. She only said things to them like names of cartoons that she knew they made and foods. They only looked at her crazy, but it was about the best she could do. She got a lot of humor out of it too. Now was time to hit the streets to see just how these fans felt about Civil War.

x~. Meet And Greet - Streets Of Tokyo, Japan

It was always a good idea to be familiar with the environment around you. It was good to be able to operate the same anywhere that you went. So Phoenix decided that she would head towards the Tokyo Dome just to take a little tour of it and see just where she would be wrestling for Civil War. She got in her tour of the backstage area and all. It was a really nice building on the inside and out. Strangely, it read Tokyo Dome on the outside instead of being written in Japanese. After her tour of the inside, she would come out and fans were everywhere, literally. Some were still trying to find last minute tickets while others were just there in hopes of meeting some of their favorite WGEF superstars. Now true enough, Phoenix had not been in WGEF very long, but she was still very well known from her work in the States. And of course, these fans were a lot different from United States' fans. Actually, that was pretty much anywhere overseas. The people treated celebrities like royalty in these places, and this day would be no different. Before she got into the big crowd of people, she had to get some things straight.

Phoenix Okay babe, you are going to film this right?

Dimitri Sure, no need for me being on camera.

Phoenix Ok, and TJ, you will make sure I know what these people are saying?

TJ But of course. You will not be slapping me around and locking me in that deadly submission of yours will you?

Phoenix laughed with another flashback of his former employer.

Phoenix No, just make sure you get the job done and you will be just fine.

They all took a deep breath and into the big swarm of people. Dimitri started the camera and things kicked off.

Phoenix Well, I have finally made it over to Tokyo, and I am right here in front of the very Tokyo Dome that myself and Drew Stevenson will be competing in, in just a little over forty-eight hours. Yes, I only mentioned Drew because I have gotten to the point I figured Michael probably will not be showing. If he does, I can guarantee his performance would only be piss poor at best.

Phoenix shrugs.

Phoenix The truth hurts, but look at the bright side, being in the ring with me hurts even worse, so he really is getting off easy. Now then, I figured I would take al ittle tour of the Dome and just see how much the fans were ready for this event. Can you see all of these people Drew? They are packed out here like the event is today and they are just begging for some action. Now once again, you went on with your respects for me and how we are going to do this and that. But you have to ask yourself, are you really ready for what is ahead of you? See, it is nothing to tell me about it because they all do. Do you really have it in you to put on the show that these people are expecting? What you must realize is that this is not the United States anymore Drew. While your defense may supposedly be "superior" and you can pretty much match it with your offense, just how much offense do you really have? Because getting into the ring with me, I have to be quite honest, you are going to need a hell of a lot of offense. You say you like to study things and factor them out, but are you really doing that, or are you just blowing smoke out the side of your neck? You see Drew, have you factored in the fact that Michael James just might not show? Perhaps you did considering you did not even mention him in your latest. But I would not get too happy about that. Mathematically that gives you a better chance of winning. You then improve from a thirty-three point three percent chance of winning to a fifty percent chance of winning. However, realistically, that really decreases your chances of winning. That means, I only have to focus on you in this match now. That leaves you all by your little lonesome. Now I know what you are thinking and I am sure I know what you would say, "we have fought some of the best...blah blah blah, beat some of the best...blah." Then you will throw that proverbial word around quite a bit for whatever reason.

Phoenix laughs a bit.

Phoenix You may have fought the best, but you have not fought me. You may have beaten some of the best, but you have not beaten me. You have even classified yourself as one of the best, but all in all, you are not me. Now surely that does not intimidate you. You do not get intimidated. You are not scared. You have nothing to fear. I have heard that song for a good bit now, but I have always had a song in return for that one. You do not have to be intimidated to lose my dear. I want you to be as calm and collected as you can be. But I want you to do one thing for me, once you taste that bitter taste of defeat, I do not want you to get mad then. I want you to stay calm and collected and realize that out of the two of us, only one can win. Even if Michael happens to show between now and Sunday, I strongly doubt he has what it takes to pull a victory out of his ass. And from an art point of view, I still have you beat. Why? You are used to the Picasso way of things. Leonardo da Vinci's paintings is what seems normal to you. But me, I like to defy tradition and color outside of the lines. That is what puts me two steps ahead of you. You have to be willing to step outside of the norm. That is what this whole Japanese experience is about. It is not normal. The whole atmosphere will be different. How would I know considering I have never fought overseas? I can feel it already. You must always realize Phoenix is always thinking on her feet. That is the whole point of being out here today.

Phoenix held up her arms circling around. It was not much room to move. She felt like Kobe Bryant at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and how they had him bogarted in just like Phoenix was now.

Phoenix I got here early just to get a feel of the atmosphere. Had to get a bit of a taste for this air that you will be suffering to take in. I really advise you to take these last two days for the show very serious. These fans are not expecting any gimmicks. They want a straight brutal match and I am ready to deliver, how about you? But hey, you do not have to take my word for it. Let us see what the fans think.

Phoenix held the microphone up to one of the female fans.

Phoenix Who do you think is going to win against myself and Drew Stevenson, possibly Michael James if he shows?

Of course TJ had to ask them the questions for her.

Random Girl 1

TJ She said, "Phoenix! You are like the greatest wrestler ever. I cannot believe you actually are here in Tokyo. She is so excited to get a chance to see you in action.

Phoenix hugged her and went on to the next person.

Random Man 1

TJ He is screaming your name and saying you are the "hot bird."

Phoenix grinned and signed his forehead. It was almost unbearable to be in this crowd. After a good three or four more, she went to one last person.

Phoenix Hey, how are you feeling about the opener for the WGEF pay per view Sunday?

TJ He said, "Drew Stevenson is self-overrated. This probably will be a walk in the park for you. You are Phoenix! You kick men's ass all the time. Drew Stevenson is nowhere near the level of the men you have defeated before. ALL HAIL PRINCESS PHOENIX"!

Seems like when he said this, a "Phoenix" chant just started in the crowd. It started getting rather loud.

Phoenix Well Drew, I have to get out of here. These people are about to start a riot. All I can tell you is to get ready to kiss that flawless record goodbye.

She kissed her hand and then waved goodbye which was just a sign of him having to kiss that undefeated streak in WGEF goodbye. She was coming in with one goal, win, and she was going to dominate while doing it. Dimitri cut off the camera and they made their way out of the crowd and back to their funny looking van that was transporting them around.

OOC Statement: Yeah, got a bit long there. Wasn't planning on it to be, but I didn't want to just jump into the scene without building up her first trip overseas. Then I had to do the actual Japanese translations, which didn't all show up. Hope you all enjoy anyway  and didn't get lost in all the wordage there.
