It's your perception that started to get a little numb, and your perfection isn't helping anyone. Your reflection is the only way for you to see, for your protection...you need to see reality. Step back, take a look inside yourself, from the outside you can see someone else staring back at you...it's your reflection. ---Staring Back By Pillar

The road towards Whatever It Takes seems to be one that Ryan Payne was born for, it's something that he was bred for definitely. Thus far, the promos that he has been putting forward have been on point and have hit the mark hard. For many years, people have doubted his ability inside the squared circle. Some believed that he would never amount to anything more than some dark match jobber. Needless to say all of those people were dead wrong, Ryan had become something that no one thought he'd be. He became a big name in the business, he became a legend, a hall of famer, a champion on several occasions, he became known as one of the greatest wrestlers to ever lace a pair of boots. Along that journey, some of the things he's done to get to where he is today is probably questionable, well not really. Most of the things he's done in his lifetime were just downright despicable. From pissing on someone's grave who just passed away, to making someone believe that the former love of their life was stalking them and trying to do wrong to them, to breaking almost every heart he's encountered and damn near ending the careers of many of the people he's stepped into the ring with--and took pleasure in it, might I add-- he's evolved tremendously.

The Jekyll and Hyde game in your mind is just a simile.

Those who know Ryan best knows that he's always been one cold hearted, calculating, venomous, and uncaring individual. At one point in his career, he let it be known that he'd kick his mother's ass and sell her soul if he thought it would get him somewhere. There has never been a moment in Ryan's career and life that he hadn't done something that wasn't beneficial to him in the end. But that's all been put behind us...or so we think. We'll come back to this in a second, let's talk about what's happening this Sunday. The day following Valentine's Day--and on a random side note, if WGEF decided to hold the event on Valentine's Day, the name of the event could've definitely been Valentine's Day Massacre. Totally random, I know.-- the world of professional wrestling will pretty much stand still. The world will be watching as a new WGEF Undisputed Champion will be crowned. It's highway robbery that this match isn't the main event of the show but that's okay, with the performance that Ryan Payne plans on delivering in the match, it'll steal the show. Seems that Payne has done nothing but speak the truth about the opponents he's faced with this Sunday and in case you've forgotten--in which case, I don't blame you-- they are Phoenix Winterborn, Drew Stevenson and Deacon Havok. These three men are the type of men that always want big things but don't want to step up when it's time to do so. Where are they now that they've been summoned to do battle for the richest prize in the industry? Yeah, we've heard from Winterborn but come on, was that all he had to bring to the table? Where's the fire? Where's your heart? Where's the determination? Where's the drive? It's a shame that Ryan Payne is the only one giving 120% but that's the type of individual he is. Can you blame the crowd for being red hot for Ryan now? They've seemed to look past all his wrong doing for the past six years and given him a chance at a do-over and he's doing justice now as he promised he would. 2009 had been going right thus far as far as Payne is concerned.

Now, to jump back to the discussion of Ryan Payne and The Devil era, it seems that an idea might have been sparked from that. In this next promo that we hope you enjoy, you'll see how that plays out. During the time that all that was going on, it was like Ryan was almost possessed at times. The things he did, followed by that look in his eyes that could only be described as lifeless at best was just sick pretty much. Some of the things he said didn't sit well with people and rightfully so. Well, like I said, in this next promo, you'll see parts of that come out. Sit back and enjoy the show.

Inside everyone of us, there exists a dark side but some...are consumed by it. Behind these eyes, one finds only darkness. These are the eyes...of a psychopath.

It seems sometimes in life no matter what you do, your past always catches up to you. Some call it fate, others call it karma and some just believe it to be one of those unexplainable things. Sometimes, you can't escape who you really are. You can try your best to change your ways but at the end of the day, the person you've always been always emerges and overshadows what you try and be in that time. If you were born to be a killer, you will be that. What does any of this have to do with anything? Fact is that Ryan is now trying to get people to believe that he's a changed individual. No longer is he a cold heartless bastard that beats the shit out of people for the sheer enjoyment of it? Bullshit. Ryan Payne will be the same person he's always been until the day that he dies.

The time was two o'clock in the morning, Ryan immediately got out of bed groaning and holding his head. He ran into the bathroom turning on the light and looked into the mirror. "What the hell is wrong with me?" He said aloud. He quickly looked in the medicine cabinet and grabbed a needle that was already filled with what he needed for his moments like this. He injected himself and sighed loudly and was breathing rather hard. "This..." He started off talking through his breathing, once again, to himself. "...won't work. I must find a way to stop this permanently." He took a deep breath then turned on the water and bent down splashing some on his face, he then grabbed the towel that was to the left and dried his face off standing upright. He removed the towel and looked into the mirror and saw half face was normal looking while the other half looked someone demonic in a sense. Sick, twisted smirk and all, Ryan screamed out a little and rubbed his eyes and took another look and everything was normal. "I must be extremely tired. I can't get knocked off my game now, I have to stay focused for this damn match on Sunday. Pull it together, Ryan." He said trying to keep himself motivated and for the most part, sane. He went back and took a look at the clock realizing how late it was, he shook his head and took another deep breath and laid back down, closing his eyes and got what little sleep he could.

Daybreak finally came and Ryan arose out of bed, stretching and yawning. He got up and looked down at his hands that were covered in blood. "What the hell?!" He said as he started freaking out, blood was all over him basically. He couldn't figure out how or why, he wasn't injured nor was he cut. He went into the bathroom and turned on the water washing the blood off his hands. "You can't escape who you really are, Ryan." He heard in a whispering tone, he looked around turning the water off. "Hello? Who's there?" He asked as he walked out, now seemingly freaked out a bit. He started to head down the stairs, and he kept looking around. He then looked on the floor noticing a blood trail, a body had been dragged, he followed it covering his mouth in disbelief. He went into the kitchen where the trail of blood led and behind the counter was a pizza delivery guy beaten badly and stabbed to death. Ryan quickly turned away and tried to pull himself together, he shook his head and he then heard police sirens. He knew if they saw this, the immediate reaction they'd get from this and he couldn't afford to go to jail. He had too big of a match on Sunday to worry about, he was going to do Whatever It Takes to make to that event. If that meant ducking the law until then, so be it. He headed out the back door and went to a location that only he knew about.

While in this location, he locked himself in a room and sat down trying to piece together what happened last night. He started to pound on his head. "What the hell happened." He then placed his hands on his head and lowered it. "How does it feel Ryan?" A voice inside his head asked him but it sounded as if someone was in the room with him, he tried to act as if he didn't hear it but he really did. His cell phone started to ring and he jumped a little from it, he wasn't expecting it, he pulled it out of his pocket and answered. "Hello?"

"RYAN! What the hell did you do?"

"What are you talking about?" He asked

"I'm looking at the news and you're wanted for murder, dude. You killed someone?"

"No, of course not. I mean...I don't think so, I don't know." Ryan said scrambling all around. "Nicole, I can't turn myself in."

"What are you going to do? Look over your shoulder for the rest of your life?" Nicole asked him. "Dude, I've been your friend and all for years but this is too much, you need to turn yourself in."

"I can't. I have a big match Sunday." Ryan said, being wanted for murder wasn't even going to stop him from making it to the event.

"Okay, well seriously...what are you going to do?"

"I don't know." Ryan responded, he was confused a lot, he really had no clue on what really happened last night. Last thing he remembers was waking up and giving himself that shot then going back to bed.

"Do you even remember what happened last night?" She asked him in a worried tone.

"No." Ryan responded. "I woke up about two and pretty much went back to sleep after that, that's all I recall." Ryan said, then as he sat there and started thinking, he started to have flashes of what happened as he saw himself punching the shit out of the pizza dude then growling as he punted him in the face. All through this flashback, Nicole was talking to him and she wasn't getting a response, she called out his name several times. "Huh?" He answered finally snapping from it.

"What's wrong with you?" She asked. "You're like..not here right now."

"I just...I need my medicine, I'll call you back, Nicole." He said as he then unexplainably hung up the phone and shut it off. "Did I really..." He started thinking to himself, could he really have done what he saw? "...no, no...no, I couldn't have. I'm not that type of person anymore, there's no way I could have done such a thing." He said trying to convince himself that he had changed. "You can't change who you are, Ryan." The voice again said, Ryan started to shake a little, he needed his medication, he left from the room he was in and went into the other where there was a shitload of medicine in there and on the wall there was a certificate that had his name on it. 'Doctor Ryan Payne', it read, Ryan grabbed the medicine and he was going to inject himself again but he stopped and dropped it and looked up. "I can beat this." He said. "I've overcome many things in my life and this will be just another one added to the list." He then looked into the mirror. "I am in control here, I'm not the same person I once was."

As he said that, he laughed, but it wasn't your normal laugh that he did, it was one that could only be described as creepy as he now looked into the mirror looking back at himself and actually responded in a different sounding voice. "You think you can fool me? Fool yourself? You can probably fool the people but I know who you are and you know who you are. You know what you've done and you can not change it no matter how hard you try."

"I didn't do anything." He responded.

"No? You didn't kill that guy last night?"

"That wasn't me, that was you!"

"Oh yes, likely story. I'm certain the courts will love that, you were possessed by the devil and that caused you to kill the man. Wake up, Ryan! They'll toss your sorry ass in jail and you'll be put away for life. You came to me before in order to get the thing you wanted the most in life and that was the World Championship. Allow me to help you procure it once again. Accept me as your savior and allow the purity of evil to guide you."

"No!" Ryan said forcefully. "I can do this on my own, I don't need you to win the title."

"Is that so? How do you plan on defeating Drew Stevenson, Phoenix Winterborn and Deacon Havok without me then?"

"With my God given talent and skill, that's how."

"Ooooooooh, he mentions the "G" word. Listen here, bottom-line...I'm a part of you, I've been part of you for quite some time. So, Doctor Ryan, rest assured that Mister Payne isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Whether you like it or not, you and I will win the Championship Sunday by any means necessary."

"No, this is my time. I'm not traveling down this path again."

"At this point, I'm afraid you don't have a choice. Need I remind you of what you did last night?" As he questioned it, he laughed. "You seem to have this befuddled look upon your face, so do allow me to refresh your memory." As he said that, Ryan closed his eyes and he saw the night replaying of what really happened.

When he laid back down trying to go to sleep, approximately around three in the morning, the door bell rang to which Ryan opened his eyes and was enraged that someone would come and disturb his sleep at this time of the night. Ryan had went down the stairs and opened the door in a fit of rage. "What the fuck do you want?" He asked, looking at the pizza delivery guy standing there who looked offended and caught off guard by Ryan's attitude.

"Uh, did someone order a pizza?"

"Uh.." Ryan started off mocking him. "Does it look like someone ordered a fucking pizza? Who the fuck orders pizza at three in the fucking morning? Are you a stupid son of a bitch? Seriously, when you wake up in the morning, do you see a stupid son of a bitch?"

"...No." The guy answered.

"Well, I see one." Ryan responded back. "But since you did come this way, I guess I'll just take the pizza but I'm not paying for it." Ryan said as he snatched the pizza box away from the guy.

"No, sir. You have to pay for that."

As he said that, Ryan stopped in his tracks as he was about to walk away. "Excuse me?" He question as he sat the box down and turned facing the guy now. "Did I hear you tell me that I had to do something? Because the last time I checked...I did what I wanted, when the hell I wanted to do it." He said as he walked towards him. "People have tried to control me my whole life, trying to tell me what to do, how to do it and you know what...I took good care of those people and now here you are. You know what..I'm sorry, it's late. How much do I owe you?"

"Uh 2--$22.75." He said stuttering a little as Ryan's presence and current state of mind just completely threw him for a loop.

Ryan acted like he was going to get some money and then punched the guy unexpectedly in the face, Ryan then pulled him into the house and slammed the door shut and he threw him to the ground and started to stomp away at him. The guy was trying to get up and Ryan delivered a hard kick to the midsection that had the guy grabbing at his midsection and coughing up blood. Ryan stood back surveying what he did and laughed. "It's too bad that you'll probably spend the rest of this night, morning, day...whatever, in a hospital. See, I just kicked you in your ribs and trust me...THAT'S NOT THE ONLY PLACE THAT I'M GONNA KICK YOU!" Ryan growled and measured him and delivered a severe punt to the face of the guy knocking him out cold. Ryan went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife, he held it up twirling it around and smiled. "Time to play operation. Doctor Ryan, paging Doctor Ryan." He said to himself as he went back into the room and kneeled down, he started to just randomly cut the guy and then just stabbed him in the heart. He closed his eyes and just started laughing, he grabbed the guy's hand and then dragged him into the kitchen, he grabbed a beer from the refrigerator and went back into the living room and ate the free pizza and drank beer.

The flashback was over and Ryan shook his head. "No..." He said in disbelief. "I didn't do that."

"But you did, you might think you're in control but I'm taking over once again, era of Payne...right?"

"No..." He said and then he heard a knocking on the door, his head quickly turned in the direction, who would know where he is. Well, that's a known already, there's only one person that knew about that and it was Nicole, it had to be her. Ryan went and opened up and yeah, that's exactly who it was. "What are you doing here?" He questioned

"I had to make sure you were alright. What's going on with you?" She asked, looking at him. He looked like he had just been through hell and back, he was sweating profusely and seemed to be shaking uncontrollably.

"Nothing." Ryan simply responded. "You really shouldn't be here."

"You're like my best friend, where else would I be? The police are looking for you, I'm not going to let you go at this alone."

"I know why you're here, Nicole." Ryan said. "You're still wanting me to turn myself in and I'm afraid I just can't do that." He stated looking her directly in the eye.

"You really should but if you don't want to, I can't force you, I'm just saying it's the right thing to do." Nicole said. "You can't exactly run from this for the rest of your life."

"I didn't do it." Ryan said

"They have your fingerprints, Ryan."

"I DID NOT MURDER HIM!" Ryan yelled at her.

Nicole looked a bit scared for a moment. "You need to calm down."

Uh oh, there goes that tone of seemingly telling him what to do.

"What did you say?" He questioned

"I said you need--" Before she could even finish her statement, he slapped the hell out of her and it caused her to fall down to her knees. She held her face looking up at him. "Ryan...what are you doi--" Before she finished that, he grabbed her by the face.

"Nobody... and I mean nobody tells me what to do." He said looking her in the eyes, he was definitely back to hid old ways. He had her jaw clenched tightly. "Understand when I say that I'm not turning myself in and I won't be caught...why? Because above all else, I am Ryan Payne, bitch! And this Sunday, I'll be the Champion again which is what matters most to me." He then pie faced her to the ground, he turned preparing to leave the room and looked over his shoulder noticing she was in the familiar position, he couldn't help himself as he turned around with that sick focused look on his face with the smile to match and he charged in and punted her, kicking her in the head. For a moment he felt bad, the moment quickly passed though as he started laughing leaving. As he walked out, he noticed the bitch set him up as the police were waiting for him. It was all over now...or was it?

...And that my friends is where we will end this because this is the point where Ryan woke up. Yes, it was all just a dream. They often say that dreams are representations of things, what could this have meant? That deep down inside, Ryan was still the same Villainous individual he had been for the past six years he's been in the business? That could very well be it but sometimes dreams can't be taken so literally. Ryan had decided that since he was up now, he'd get on his Myspace and write a blog to clear his mind.

Road To Glory
Current Mood: Determined

Well, it's been quite some time since I've written one of these and yes, I know it's late at night that I'm doing this but I couldn't sleep so I figured I'd do something productive. So, first off, I want to thank everyone for the support and love you've given me over the past couple of weeks and I want to say my first match back was an amazing one, it could have really gone either way with myself and Kevin. Like I told him, he's a great talent and I certainly look forward to facing him again, after Sunday when I become Champion again, I think the next pay-per-view could use a main event like Ryan Payne Versus Kevin Sane for the Undisputed Championship. Sounds good huh? Yeah, I know. That's the future though, way ahead into the future, let's talk about this Sunday. Whatever It Takes is the final pay-per-view event for WGEF on the "MSN Circuit". It's had a long five year run and it's been quite successful and I can guarantee you right now that the final event will be one that everyone remembers. While I haven't been in WGEF all that long, I can tell you the atmosphere seems to be nothing short of amazing. There are a few exceptions as far as 'talent' goes but that's neither here nor there. The company needs someone really big representing them as Champion though, I can't stress that enough. With every great product, one must have great representation for it. For those of you wondering, yes I heard what Phoenix(Winterborn) had to say about me on the radio show and in a way he's right but he's also wrong. I'm a rookie here in WGEF, this is only my second match but on the part where he is wrong, if he thinks he's above me, he's got another thing coming. Phoenix, don't let this nice guy thing fool you, I'm still the confident person I've been all these years I've been in this business. I hope you understand that wrestling is in my blood, it's what I do. It's my livelihood, it is my damn life. Every match I'm scheduled in, I go out there and fight like my life depends on it because to me at that very moment...it does. Nobody gives as much to this business and as much to this sport as I do. I'm not trying to disrespect anyone here or step on any toes but really, I say what I have to say about whatever and I back it up in the process. If I tell you that I'm going to go out there and win three championships in one night, you'd better believe that I'll do it.

There's been people known to doubt me before and that's their mistake. One person who doubted me before was Drew Stevenson. He's doubted me on numerous occasions and I think he knows better than anyone not to do that. The first time he and I were scheduled for a match, he doubted that I had what it took to defeat him and I proved him wrong. Then when I was scheduled for my first ever OCW World Championship match, he doubted that I could defeat Owen Stevenson and I wiped the mat with that rat faced bastard. I could go on and on but the moral of the story is...don't doubt me, because I will always prove your ass wrong. Your doubt does nothing more than give me more drive and more motivation. I can tell you one thing, actually, I can tell you a lot of things. First, this Sunday from the sold out arena in Milan, Italy...the roof is going to be blown off the joint. Secondly, I will walk out as the Undisputed Champion. Thirdly, Phoenix Winterborn, sorry about the Painkiller...kind of. It's nothing personal, it's just good business..you should understand that. Think of it as a wrong place, wrong time type deal.

As far as my opponents go for this match; Phoenix Winterborn, Deacon Havok(the self proclaimed king of havok) and Drew Stevenson. I sincerely hope you all are ready to put it all on the line. I sincerely hope you've also read the warning label and I know what you're thinking...what warning label, Ryan? I'll tell you, the warning label that comes when facing me. It states: "Take too many Painkillers and you'll find your life in jeopardy." That's yet another thing that Drew has doubted and I think he's probably the second in the business who has taken the most Painkillers(of course, everyone knows Kevin holds that record for the most taken). You know, in all seriousness, I really do hope you all are ready to put on the performance of your lives. We're in this match, in the position that very few get to be in so let's show why WGEF is where it is today. To my fans both in the states and over in Italy(can't wait to see you guys by the way!) I say...that I am the absolute best and the moment you stop striving to be the best, you might as well be dead. I know how much you guys like me saying that so I couldn't end this without adding that in there. Well, I'll be leaving for Italy tomorrow. But I'm heading to back to bed now, so see you guys. Payne out!

made for Ryan by murderdoll at daf.
