Mindless Ramblings -Good Luck. -

Whatever it takes. It wasn’t just a clever name for the WGEF’s upcoming pay per view but it was also the theme for many of the people booked on the card. One of those people was none other than WGEF Co-Owner and Intercontinental Champion Trish Stratus Copes. It was at that very show that Trish was set to defend her Intercontinental Championship against Spear and she was determined to do whatever she had to in order to walk out of Milan, Italy with the Intercontinental Title still around her where it belonged. Not that she doubted for a second that her title was in any jeopardy. The thing about Spear was that he was more talk than anything else and about getting his hands on the WGEF Title of all things. The way things were going, Trish wasn’t going to have to work as hard as she thought she was going to have to in order to keep her title. In fact it was going to be a cakewalk.

The scene opened up in Albany, New York in the living room of the mansion belonging to Trish and Deacon Copes. It was mid afternoon and Trish was busy going over some last minute paper work regarding the WGEF’s upcoming move to Aimoo while her three year old daughter Crystal played on the floor beside her. Trish reached over to the coffee table grabbing a small stack of papers pulling them over to the couch dropping them down on the cushion beside her. Grabbing the first group of papers off the top, flipping through to the very last page as she carefully read over every word. Once she was satisfied she picked up her pen from its spot on the arm of the couch and signed her name under Kaylee’s. She laid them on the opposite end of the couch then reached over beside her knee grabbing another bunch when her cell phone rang. Dropping the papers back down, she grabbed her RAZR off the arm of the couch pulling it from its case. She looked at the caller id screen she saw her assistant Karen’s number. She flipped the phone open, holding it up to her ear as she started to speak.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
This better be good Karen, I have a ton of stuff to go over for the move and I’d like to get it done before we actually do so.

%Karen%
I see someone is just a tad grumpy today.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
More like frustrated.

%Karen%
You need to relax a little bit, pretty much everything that needs to be done is already done. The only things that are left are the formalities. Surely there can’t be that much of those left.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
Unfortunately for me there are. I’m going to be signing my name so much I might as well invest in a stamp.

%Karen%
It can’t be that bad. Are you ready for your title defense Sunday night?

Trish raises an eyebrow in curiosity. Was Karen serious with that question? Surely she knew Trish better than to ask her a question like that and actually mean it. Apparently she didn’t since she had the gall to ask the question. Letting out a small chuckle she tosses the papers back on top of the others before falling back against the couch cushions.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
When have you not known me to be ready? Honestly Karen, you’ve known me for the last five years now if you don’t know the answer to that question by now then you’re never going to. Not that there’s much to be preoccupied with bitching about Ryan Payne moving on in the WGEF Championship match.

%Karen%
What concern is it of his?

%Trish Stratus Copes%
Well he had this idea that we were going to let him cash in his contendership for the Intercontinental Championship so he could for that instead and since he was told no he’s all butt hurt over it.

%Karen%
I take it by that comment you don’t think he’s going to give you much of a fight?

%Trish Stratus Copes%
Oh come on Karen, you’ve seen the guy before. Contrary to his own beliefs he is far from the toughest competition I’ve ever faced. The guy’s only real talent is picking one topic and running his mouth about it nonstop until everyone within earshot wants to drive a sharp object into their ear and rupture their eardrum.

%Karen%
That’s a little drastic don’t you think? After all from what I’ve been hearing he’s a little upset at not being able to go after the WGEF Title and is going to make an example out of you and take yours.

Trish let out a small laugh.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
How can you ask me if I think rupturing my eardrum is drastic when you tell me something like that? Honestly Karen, sometimes I don’t know about you. So Spear’s pissed off because we wouldn’t let him cash in his contender’s shot for the Intercontinental Championship so he could live out his dream of competing for the WGEF Championship? Well that’s his own dumb luck. The man really needs to learn how to make up his mind and not change it at the last possible second then think he can get away with it. If he wanted a shot at the WGEF Championship then he should have kept his hands off my belt and not run his mouth about how badly he wanted to get his hands on it.

%Karen%
It must be a blonde thing.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
Excuse me? Have you forgotten that I am one as well?

%Karen%
Did I say blonde? I meant a male thing.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
That’s more like it. (She giggles) Besides the last time I checked I don’t change my mind every time the wind changes direction.

%Karen%
It was just a slip of the tongue.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
Alright I’ll forgive you this one time provided you don’t make any more slips of the tongue like that.

%Karen%
That was easier than I thought. Don’t tell me you plan on taking it that easy on Spear?

%Trish Stratus Copes%
Of course not! After the things he’s been saying about me it’s going to be far from easy. The man stuck his nose into something that didn’t concern him and when he got shot down he decided to come at me. According to him since Blair went out on injury just before our match, I could use a good contender so I don’t get “rusty? I’ve defended the belt at practically every pay per view last year, I have one month off and now all of a sudden I’m rusty?

%Karen%
If you ask me the guy was just trying to get under your skin to get a shot at your title since you turned down his idea for the WGEF Title match.  And from where I’m sitting it seems to have worked quite nicely.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
Oh shut up! When have you ever known me to turn down a title shot?

%Karen%
Never.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
My point exactly. Look how many times I defended the title against JBL alone last year. If I was rusted in any way I wouldn’t have gave him umpteen title shots every single month, unlike most of the other champions around here who do nothing but sit on their ass waiting on us to get them a contender. And yet I’m the one that’s rusted.

%Karen%
  He could say worse things.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
You’re not kidding. He could be like a few others and say how I’m in over my head and can’t handle taking on Spear. How he’s going to be a lot for me to handle. Me of all people! I’ve went up against some of the biggest names this company has had and now I hear that Spear is going to be tough for me. Honestly Karen there are times I don’t know why I bother anymore.

%Karen%
It sounds to me like you’re over working yourself and need a vacation.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
Well that depends on who you ask. The general consensus is that I can’t handle taking on anyone that requires even an iota of energy, hell Chris Orton is probably over my head anymore. Spear, on the other hand, is apparently going to require my complete and undivided attention from now until Sunday.

%Karen%
That’s nonsense. Trust me you more than have the ability to take on Spear and beat him. You just need to believe in yourself.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
I’m one of the few that do. I don’t know Karen, maybe I’m kidding myself.

%Karen%
You are not kidding yourself; you’re doubting your abilities is what you’re doing. Trust me Sunday when comes, you’ll see that you are perfectly of defeating Spear.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
It’s nice to see that at least someone has some confidence other than me. I was starting to think I was the only one.

%Karen%
I’m sure Deacon does.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
Of course he does.

%Karen%
Well there you go; you’re not the only one.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
I’m just waiting for Spear to say it now. As much as he likes to pick one little topic and run his mouth about it non stop I’m surprised he hasn’t already brought it up.

%Karen%
Just give him time and he will.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
I have no doubts about that. Why do you think I’m staying here? I have much better things to do than listen to Spear run his mouth about how I’m in over my head and how he’s going to take my title away from me. (She lets out a sigh) I swear Karen it’s the same thing over and over.

%Karen%
You should be used to that by now with as many people that come in here reciting the same thing over and over.

%Trish Stratus Copes%
You would think so wouldn’t you? Apparently that’s something that one never gets used to. I can’t count how many times I’ve heard that I need to retire alone, much less how I can’t handle the newer people.

Looking over at the stack of papers sitting on the couch next to her, Trish lets out a sigh. She knows that they aren’t going to sign themselves unfortunately, so she needed to get to them. Turning her attention back to her phone conversation she told Karen that she had a million things to do and needed to be going. Karen accepted and told Trish that she would catch her later. After a few more pleasantries the two women said their goodbyes before eventually hanging up. Trish flips her phone closed tossing it down on the couch cushions as the scene fades to black.

OCC: Okies here's #2, hopefully I get a third up tomorrow before the deadline

No rest for the weary. At least that’s how Trish looked at it. Not only was she going over last minute details for the WGEF’s move to Aimoo but she was getting herself ready for her upcoming title defense against Spear. That match of course was going to be taking place at the company’s upcoming pay per view entitled ‘Whatever It Takes? The scene opens up in Milan, Italy and as it does we’re taken to one a beautiful hotel suite at of the cities more extravagant hotels. Trish awoke bright and early at the stroke of seven eventually coaxing herself out of the luxurious king sized bed. After just arriving the night before it was amazing that she was up that early, then again she was used to Crystal getting up this early. As she pulled herself to a seated position she looked over at the rollaway bed on the opposite end of the room seeing her three year old daughter was still fast asleep. She let out a sigh debating on whether to lounge on the bed awhile more or just go ahead and take a shower. A shower would feel better. Having made her decision, Trish flung her legs over the side of the bed dropping them down onto the floor. She made her way around the bed careful not to disturb Crystal as she made her way over to far side of the room where her suitcase was propped up along the wall. As she unzipped the main section “Without You?by Hinder fills the room. Recognizing it as the ringtone she had set for ringtones she snatched up her gym bag from beside it. She fished around in the front pouch for her phone praying that she got it before it woke her daughter up. Finally finding it at the bottom she quickly pulled it out and flipped it open. Seeing Kaylee’s number on the caller id screen she quickly pulled herself to her feet hurrying back across the room. Just past the bed was a pair of French styled doors that the bellboy assured her led to a balcony overseeing the beautiful scenery Milan had to offer. Finally reaching the doors she gave them a gentle shove stepping onto the balcony. The air was cool as it hit her face but Trish didn’t notice. Her attention was drawn to her phone. Flipping the phone open she pressed the accept button slowly raising the phone up to her ear.

%Trish Stratus%
Hey girl, what’s going on?

%Kaylee Adams%
Oh, nothing. I just called to see if you ever decided to show or were planning on waiting till the last minute like a few others.

%Trish Stratus%
When have you ever known me to wait till the last minute to show up for anything? Besides I have an excuse. The pilot I had was either a complete idiot or just got his license this morning.

%Kaylee Adams%
For all you know he did.

%Trish Stratus%
It would be my luck seriously. Of course, it would’ve been nice had they given me someone who could tell their ass from a hole in the ground.

%Kaylee Adams%
You’re just trying to make excuses you slacker.

%Trish Stratus%
A slacker? How on God’s green earth did I become a slacker?

%Kaylee Adams%
You mean aside from the fact that you have a title defense coming up against one of the better challengers you’ve had in awhile, right?

%Trish Stratus%
Hey if I had gotten a pilot who had a brain in his head, I would have been there sooner than this so there (She sticks out her tongue). Besides you don’t think for a minute than I’m going to give Spear an easy ride over this do you? The man stood there in that ring telling me how I had something that belonged to him and that he was going to take it back. Then after he wins a contender’s match for it, all of a sudden decides he wants to cash it for a WGEF Title shot.

%Kaylee Adams%
What do you expect from a man who changes his mind more than most people change their underwear?

%Trish Stratus%
Ewwww, that was an image I could have done without thank you very much. There is a plus side to coming late. I don’t have to hear him say over and over again how he’s going to be the one person to finally beat me and take the Intercontinental Title off of me until I think I’m going to lose what little sanity I have left.

%Kaylee Adams%
Surprisingly enough he really hasn’t said a whole lot.

%Trish Stratus%
That’s a surprise, he usually likes to run his mouth non stop. Especially when he thinks it’s going to do him some good. And lord knows him finding out that I haven’t arrived in Milan yet would definitely give him the impression that it would do him some good.

%Kaylee Adams%
Well you know he deserves a title shot don’t ya?

%Trish Stratus%
Maybe in his warped little mind he does. Let me tell ya, he deserves a title shot just as much as I enjoy having to deal with idiots day after day. To hear him tell it he’s the only one around here who does anything and we’re screwing him over. (She rolls her eyes)  I’ll give him credit, he does show up more than some people around here do when they’re booked.  But that’s the only thing I’ll give him credit for.

%Kaylee Adams%
Just the fact that you’re giving him credit for something is a surprise.

%Trish Stratus%
You know me…always the generous one.

%Kaylee Adams%
Oh…of course. I haven’t known one day where you weren’t being overly generous to someone.

%Trish Stratus%
It’s a hard job but someone has to do it. Besides Spear should be lucky I’m giving him credit for that much. What has the guy done around here since he debuted other than showing up most of the time?

%Kaylee Adams%
Okay…I give up, what?

%Trish Stratus%
Sat around and bitched that we weren’t giving him this or we weren’t giving him that. Seriously, what does he think this is? Some sort of magic palace where he can just demand things and gets it. This isn’t Aladdin’s lamp, I hate to tell him.

Both women shared a laugh at Spear’s expense before maintaining their composure a few moments later.

%Trish Stratus%
It’s sad but true. The man runs around here like he is God’s gift to wrestling without really having done much of anything to speak of. And here we thought Chris Orton was delusional.

%Kaylee Adams%
Yea but he is. I take it you have some sort of plan in mind on how to show your worthy opponent that he’s not as gifted as he thinks he is?

%Trish Stratus%
Of course I do! I’ve always got a plan. With no more than Spear seems to care about this match I might not have to use that much of it. Heck I could send Crystal in there and get the same outcome seriously.

%Kaylee Adams%
Save her for in case Monica gets the itch to get involved.

%Trish Stratus%
I might just have to do that.

Seeing Crystal starting to stir inside Trish informs her best friend that she has go and gets Crystal ready before she headed out. Karen would be on her way with Trish’s limo and if she wanted to be at the arena for the press conference she had set up then she had best be moving. Having to get three kids ready herself , Kaylee agrees and the two women say their goodbyes. After saying their goodbyes, Trish flipped her phone closed making her way back inside as the scene fades to black.

Mindless Ramblings: And here is #3

The time for talking was over. Now it was time to put up or shut up. Trish, of course had no problem with that. She had been ready for this match since day one and wasn’t about to let up. The way Spear talked this match was going to be a cakewalk. He had no idea just how wrong he was. Lucky for him he’d be finding out soon enough. That is, if he got the guts to actually show up. Which wasn’t looking to be very promising. The man hadn’t been seen by anyone in a couple of days which caused Trish to wonder if he was even going to show. Not that it really mattered to her one way or the other if he did. She had the utmost confidence in herself that she was going to retain her title. What got under her skin was if he didn’t show up then she had wasted her time and anyone who knew Trish, knew how much she hated to waste her time. The closer the show got, the better things were looking for Trish.

The scene opens up a few moments later and as it does we’re taken to the lobby where Trish and her daughter Crystal had just stepped off the elevator, being instantly greeted by a throng of fans. Trish scooped her daughter up straddling her across her hip as they made their way through the lengthy lobby. As they finally reached the main entry doors, Trish reached up with her free hand giving the door a shove gliding through it. She made her way over to the waiting black stretch limo, lowering Crystal to her feet. Crystal slid in first soon followed by her mother. As the limo’s engine roars to life, Trish leans her head against the back of the seat closing her eyes. Her mind slowly started to focus on the upcoming press conference she was heading to. God how she dreaded it. What she dreaded the most was standing in front of a podium for God knows how long answering a million questions from people who made even Kris Dawson look smart but it was good publicity for the company and that was something she couldn't turn down. After what seemed like a matter of minutes the limo reached the Arena Immobiliare SRL where the press conference was scheduled to take place. It pulled through the parking lot coming to a stop in front of the rear entry doors. Trish unfastens her seatbelt and Crystal as Karen gets hers. They make their way inside; checking in with a tall middle aged man, she soon learned was the event coordinator. She was informed that everything was just about ready and that she was being sent to make up right away. Trish handed Crystal over to Karen and followed the coordinator over to a small makeshift makeup area, much like the ones she was used to seeing everyday. She made her way over to a director's styled chair, making herself comfortable. A few moments pass and she glances over at her watch. Noticing that she had been sitting there for five minutes she wondered where in the hell the makeup artist was. She rested her elbow on the arm and leaned her head against her fist letting out an irritated sigh as a rather annoyed look started to appear on her face. She was scheduled to get her hair and make up done before the press conference and as usual the makeup artist was late. Trish sat in the chair anxiously tapping her recently French manicured nails against the wood handles, glancing up at the clock grumbling to herself with each second that passed. She needed a way to calm herself down before she exploded on the poor woman. She reached into the pocket of her hip hugger jeans pulling out her metallic pink iPOD. Unwinding the headphones from around it she sticks them in her ears.  Holding the player in front of her face she gets to her song list, looking for a song that will lighten her mood. A few seconds later she finds the song she was looking for and lays the player down on her lap. As “Viva La Vida?by Coldplay starts to play she leans her head against the cool concrete wall, closing her eyes. No sooner had the lyrics started she could feel the stress slowly start to diminish and not a moment to soon. The makeup artist rushed down the hall in Trish’s direction quickly getting in position behind Trish’s chair. Trish pulls her head up and turning around so that her back was facing the back of the chair, giving the makeup artist room to work.  She started with Trish’s hair, quickly getting to her makeup. Within a matter of minutes Trish was done. She slid off the chair to the floor, pausing long enough to give the makeup artist a sarcastic thank you before walking off to where the event coordinator was waiting. They made their way down a semi long hallway. Even through the thick concrete walls she could hear the low rumbling coming from the crowd inside. She knew it was good for business but she didn’t care. In her eyes this was just another interview and it was no secret how much she hated interviews. She let out a small groan as she continued down the hall, listening as the rumbling noise started to get louder. Moments later they finally reached the end of the hall coming upon a set of double steel doors. The event coordinator grabbed the handle of the door pulling it towards him. He steps inside followed by Trish. They make their way across the large room, stepping up onto a sizeable stage with a podium positioned directly in the middle. The coordinator made his way to the middle of the stage tapping on the mic to get the attention of everyone in the room. A few minutes pass and the room slowly starts to get quiet giving him a chance to speak.

%Event Coordinator%
Ladies and Gentlemen, I want to start off thanking you for coming today. Our press conference will be beginning shortly but first I want to give you some ground rules. Anyone wishing to ask a question to Miss Stratus, raise your hand and she will get to when she can.  Simple as that. Now without further adieu, our guest of honor…Trish Stratus.

Trish made her way onto the stage amongst a series of flash bulbs from the hundreds of cameras throughout the room. She was dressed in black silk top with matching pants and high heels on her feet. Her long blonde hair hung loose resting just below her shoulders. She had bronze dangling earrings in her ears. Judging by her appearance, it was impossible to tell she had just gotten off a plane before arriving. Trish made her way across the stage, stopping in front of the podium. She placed her hands on each side as she stared out into the crowd waiting for the bulbs to stop flashing. After what seemed like hours they finally stopped and the room had starting growing quiet. Trish cleared her throat and started to speak.

%Trish Stratus%
Welcome everyone. I’m not going to waste a lot of time covering any un-necessary topics. I will gladly answer any questions regarding my match against Spear later on this evening or the WGEF’s upcoming move to Aimoo. With that said, let’s get right into this.

She looks straight ahead at a middle aged man who was starting to go bald with his hand waving frantically in the air. Not the type she would normally choose as number one, but hey she had to start somewhere. She pointed at him, telling him that he had been chosen. The man holds his mic up to his lips and starts to speak.

%Reporter #1%
Trish, this whole thing started about a month ago when Spear interjected himself in another matter involving WGEF’s other owner Kaylee Adams and Randy Orton. Upon his involvement, Spear proposed a “Pick Your Destiny?match involving quite a collection of people. When he was turned down he seemed to focus on you and the Intercontinental Title, claiming that he will do whatever it takes to get it. How do you respond to that?

Trish let out a small laugh.

%Trish Stratus%
Spear can claim he’s going to do whatever it takes to take the Intercontinental Championship all he wants to but all that is, is words. Until he steps up and proves it they mean absolutely nothing. Before you ask me about whether he has the ability to back it up…well…that remains to be seen. The event is in two hours and the only sighting of him was sometime last week having a little fit about not getting a shot at the WGEF Championship. I don’t know about you, but that tells me even he knows that he doesn’t have what it takes to take away the Intercontinental Title.

After answering his question Trish moves her eyes to the back where a young red haired woman stood with her hand waving wildly in the air. Trish pointed at her giving her, her cue to speak.

%Reporter #2%
In the same thing that was just alluded to, Spear also hinted that you were getting rusty from not having defended the title against a top competitor in awhile. What is your response to that?

%Trish Stratus%
Again…Spear can say what he wants but until he proves it, it’s nothing but words. What he’s trying to do is get me to defend the people that I have defended the title against. He’s trying to make it look like I have only defended the title against people I can easily beat in order to hold on to the title longer.

%Reporter #2%
Have you?

%Trish Stratus%
If you’re asking if I have only granted shots to people who I know I can beat then the answer is no. I put the title up against any one that has come along wanting a shot. Contrary to beliefs of some, I don’t need to go against mid card performers in order to keep my title. I do that well enough on my own.

%Reporter #3%
You’ve managed to retain the Intercontinental Title for a little over a year and most likely will make the move to Aimoo with the Intercontinental Title still in your possession. That’s a pretty impressive record, any idea what you’re going to do next?

%Trish Stratus%
If you’re asking who I plan on defending the belt against next, I don’t have a specific person in mind. If there’s someone that decides they want a shot I’m not exactly a hard person to find.

%Reporter #4%
When Spear first asked for the contender’s match he said that he only needed one match. If he were to lose tonight and decide he wants another shot, would he be granted another one?

%Trish Stratus%
That depends on the mood I happen to be in at the time. If I feel he has earned another shot then he’ll get one and if I feel that he hasn’t then he won’t. Simple as that. If you want to find out anything else then I suggest that you watch ‘Whatever It Takes?and have a look for yourself. I have a match to getting ready for so this press conference is now over.

Trish flicked a stray piece of hair out of her face as she turned around, making her way across it to the small set of stairs she used when she made her way onto the stage an hour or so ago. After stepping off the final stair she headed down a small corridor  to the double steel doors . She gives the doors a hard shove and steps out into the hallway, letting out a loud groan in frustration as she heads down to the waiting area where Karen was waiting with Crystal. She knew she shouldn’t be surprised by those questions for some reason she was. She shook her head trying to erase the idiotic questions from her memory but was very unsuccessful. Oh well, it gave the company some good promotion even if she had to endure a couple hours of complete and utter hell. She shrugged it off and continued down the hall. A few moments later she came upon a single wooden door. She stared at the door for a few seconds looking for the nameplate, Not seeing one she peered into the small window eventually seeing her daughter playing with some blocks on the floor. She pulled the door open and stepped inside. Crystal jumped up from the floor and ran over to her, wrapping her arms around her legs. Trish reached down and gave her a kiss on the forehead as Karen handed her Crystal’s coat. Trish helped her slide it on then picked her up. Once everyone was ready they made their way over to the door, stepping back out into the hallway. Eager to get out of there and onto something more pleasant Trish quickened her pace to the point where Karen had a hard time keeping up with her. Finally they reached the end of the hall and headed towards the entrance doors. Grabbing the handle Trish stepped out into the cold, holding Crystal close to her to keep her warm. The driver opened the door just as Trish reached the limo. She climbed inside sliding over to the far end so Karen could get in, sitting Crystal between them. The limo pulls out of the parking lot and onto the street as the scene fades to black.
