Exerpt from the Dallas Sun:
TEXAS NATIVE AND WRESTLING 'KING' SET A DATE
RALEIGH - WGEF Tag-Team Champions, known to the world as the Renegadez, Dylan James (23 of Raleigh, North Carolina) and Tapanga Britt (25 of Presidio and El Paso, Texas) have officially set a date for their wedding, January 3rd, 2009. Britt expressed that she did not want to book it in December, as it seemed to close to the wedding of fellow WGEF diva, Summer Fox, to avoid any inconveniencies.
For weeks, many rumored dates, such as the date of their one-year anniversary, which also happens to fall on Valentine's Day of 2009, have been floating around wrestling gossip websites. However, the fan nation welcomes this confirmed date with open arms, as it is practically timed, set at the beginning of a new year. Other details confirmed include Tapanga's surprising revelation as to what her name shall offcially be.
"I'm not keeping my last name," Britt told the Sun. "I don't want to be known to the world as Tapanga Mariposa Britt-James -- it's too big of a name for a little person, like me."
This decision surprises many, as well as management and fans, who have come to know her as a Britt for years, rather than a James. Many argue, as well as Dylan James himself, that the decision didn't 'seem up her alley,' as she is known for her stark independence.
James also confirmed that the wedding will be held privately in Raleigh, North Carolina, and that it will be a small event, as previously expressed by the couple.
"It's going to be a Renegadez wedding," James said with a smile Monday evening. "So it's gonna be crazy as it is without the paparazzi and fanatics creeping out."
While this reporter tried to get information on Dylan James's untimely neck injury, as well as Tapanga Britt's comments on the passing of fellow OCW'er and former rival Mark Riggs, the prying was unsuccessful. No further information was given other than a plead for preservation of privacy and respect.
